Game Description
Battlefield 1942 is a first-person shooter video games developed by the Swedish studio, Digital Illusions CE, and released in 2002 by Electronic Arts. The game is set during the second world war and can be played in single-player or multiplayer. Battlefield 1942 is the first game of the widely known Battlefield series, and was very well received by critics, particularly for its realistic battle simulation.
In Battlefield 1942, players take on the role of soldiers of one of five countries participating in World War II. As the Allies, the player can choose to be a soldier of the United States, the United Kingdom or the Soviet Union, while as the Axis, the player can play with Germany or Japan. The game takes place on maps corresponding to real battles that took place on one of four theaters of action – in North Africa, on the Western Front, the Eastern Front and the Pacific. Various vehicles and five infantry classes are available in the game. The infantry classes the player can play with are: Scout, Assault, Medic, Anti-tank, and Engineer.

How to play on Windows – Battlefield 1942: World War II Anthology
- Download and Extract Battlefield_1942_World_War_II_Anthology_Win_Setup_EN.7z
- Open “Game Files” and run “bf1942-setup.exe” and install the game.
- Play game using desktop shortcut
- Optional: Download Battlefield 1942 Widescreen Patch (see Additional Files) and install “bf1942widescreenpatch.exe” to play in higher resolution.

- Download and Extract Battlefield_1942_Win_RIP_EN .zip

- No installation is needed – launch the game by double-clicking on the “BF1942.exe” file and the game will launch.
- If the game does not launch, try running the game as an administrator or in compatibility mode for Windows XP (right click on the file, go to properties and then the compatibility tab to do this).

It does not work. I have followed the instructions, but the game does not start. Sad 🙁
Game installs perfectly and starts up. However, when I load a map, start the game, pick my starting point and want to start playing, the screen freezes. The gameplay seems to continue since I hear footsteps when I move and gunshots when I fire. But the screen just freezes.
When I hit escape, the game crashes.
Please, can someone help me.
I think the files are out of date. When I go to download it, only about half of the game shows up, and the game immediately crashes when I try to play a map. I think they need to be updated.
I tried to download Battlefield 1942, in set up it says No data.bin??
I have a problem that the game crashes when I join a game, and then spawn in?

Does this include the expansion packs? I see they’re posted separately so how does this work? Not very familiar with how this works for slightly older games
Hello🙏 I Download this version on 2 computers, tried to play in local, but local server is not appearing when I create it. These 2 computers in 1 room and connected to same wifi. Does anyone know how to fix it? I can connect to other internet server in list but local – nothing.
We have the same problem
try via ethernet cable between pc’s.
Check through your wireless switch/router config for a setting called “Wireless Isolation” – if it is enabled, this is what’s causing your problem. Either disable it to allow wifi-connected devices so ‘see’ each other or else connect each CPU to the router with LAN cables (aether is way faster anyway, esp for gaming.)
p.s. this setting would generally just be needed enabled for a public-access type AP – here is my router’s descr:

“If enabled, the wireless client under this SSID can only access internet and it can’t access other wireless clients even under the same SSID, Ethernet clients or this device. Other clients can’t access the wireless client, either.”
I just had the same issue, but I found it in the in game menu under custom game. Pick either then activate down the bottom. Hey presto.
Hey ! i just download the anthology and they game workd tottaly fine, but i get only the the 1942 and no the road to roam or wwii. anybody knows why??
I got a “No data.bin” error. Anyone have a fix? I think it might be because the files not in the same download location?
Runs fine Win 10. Download, unzip run the install.
In “Windows Features” – “turn windows features on and off” you must check ‘Legacy Components’ drop down check ‘Direct Play’.
Right click .exe and check ‘Run this program compatibility mode for’ – WinXp service pack 3. Then check ‘Run as Admin’.
Start game normally.
