When I first played this game YEARS ago, I had the same issue. Its the reason I never played it again. I hoped it was just my disc, but seeing this comment all these years later confirms it must be an issue with the game itself. Because even when I was like 15 (I am 33 now) I couldn’t figure out how to fix the problem. Which also bums me out because I was hoping by downloading it now that I could finally finish the game lol oh well! Gonna give it a shot anyway. If I figure it out, I will update you!

At first I thought it was because my charcter was humming while cleaning the stables. but I finally managed to get a situation where she wasn#t and his dialogue still won’t start. Has anyone else encountered this and if so, did you find a solution?

You have to open that. All the game files, including the installer, are in it. I can’t get it to run on Windows, though.

I am having a similar problem, but I can’t get the application to run at all. My computer immediately prompts me to download a different setup launcher, but it also says you need another hard drive to do that, or it will basically break the computer. I’m not really sure what else to try, but I’m not trying that.

Just was dealing with this exact issue. I did end up downloading the file from the mega download further down in the list. Also, seemed weirdly wallpaper engine was interrupting and causing the installer to get stuck. You may wanna try looking in your task manager, right click the stuck setup launcher, go to “Go to details”, right click, and hit “Analyze wait chain”. That showed me it was catching on another program for some reason.

I’m also having this issue, Nathalie! So far nothing I’ve tried has fixed it, but just wanted to bump this issue. Upon trying to enter the next competition, it just becomes a “black.exe” screen on my taskbar.

I didn’t understand this soulution… I don’t know this programs, can you explain it a little bit? How do I use them, what do they do…?

I finally having a PC that can run this game. But now, I have the same problem with this second competition… Did anyone solve the problem so far?

I have tried mounting the downloaded Mega/Mediafire folder with DAEMON and with WinCDEmu (always opening as disc type: CD-ROM), and it opens to a folder with several different files, including an application file named “SETUP.EXE” and another named “INSTALL.EXE”.
Neither of those files work when I try clicking on them, or running in Compatibility mode with XP Service Pack 2. The computer thinks for a few seconds, an application called “32-bit Setup Launcher (32bit)” appears in the Background Processes of Task Manager, but nothing else happens.
As I’ve said, there is a folder here titled “COMPETITIONS_AT_ROSEMOND_HILL” and that one also has a “SETUP.EXE” application, but this one installs the Competitions game and not the Legacy game.

I’ve also tried opening the “DRIVERS” folder and running the “A3D_DRIVRUTIN” and the “DX7AENG” applications, too. They both seem to work, but they don’t appear to have any impact on the use of the Legacy game “setup.exe” application.
