This game gets really difficult really quick and there is little to no handholding. I enjoyed it, I thought it was really fun and a pretty good game, I felt sorry to read about how poorly it was initially received. It is very obvious the developers has a lot of love for the franchise. The game downloaded well, except the only issue I had was that a lot of the animations did not work properly, but I was able to get by without them. Given all of its ups and downs I would rate this game a 8/10

Hints:
1: F5 quicksaves (there are no checkpoints or autosaves so save often)
2: F9 Reloads last save
3: You can shoot supply boxes and they’ll drop ammo
4: Explore, there are often hidden weapons that will drastically improve your chances.
5: The bugs have an advantage over you avoid making mistakes
6: Large ammo crates respawn ammo
7: Flashlight is F
8: The only good bug is a dead bug

I have problem with all scopes, when i have to tried scope with morita assault rifle, when show’s me black screen, when i back to main position, screen goes normal and i see it. So who knows, how to solve guns scope , when i can see objects with scope?

Update: The above worked for Windows 10. For Windows 8.1 I had to go to
https://fdossena.com/?p=wined3d/index.frag and select the latest XP
Version from the downloads and copy and paste the files mentioned in the
above PCGaming link. I hope this helps a little.

i have problems with the screen. not showing exactly what it should? appearing different colors albeit 1 color at a time and audio is fine but i can not fix this problem somehow

Hey folks, so like many of you I was running into an issue with all of the menus working but the game play itself was not. After digging through many a trouble-shooter I was able to find this page https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Starship_Troopers that had a pretty good step by step of things to try. That being said I scrolled down to “Corrupted graphics on AMD/ATI graphics cards” tab and found a download link https://downloads.fdossena.com/geth.php?r=wined3dst-latest that will let you download the files that are missing. Just copy and paste d3d9.dll, wined3d.dll, and ddraw.dll into your main folder where STGame.exe, unis000.exe, etc. are located. This allowed me to get the gameplay up and running. I just got this working and am currently playing to see how far I can get before running into any further issues. I hope this helps everyone. 🙂

Fix:
1) Open the “global.settings” the file is found in DocumentsEmpire InteractiveSSTSettings

2) change the Glow, Glowtrail, PostProcessing & Distort values to 0

To change resolution:
ScreenXRes: { “1920” } (or whatever res)
ScreenYRes: { “1080” }

3) In game: go to optionsgraphics

set Terrain shadows to NONE
set Shader quality to LOW

everything else to maximum

Last Level bug Fix:

go to the Starship Troopers Main Directory, go in the “ST” folder, you will see the level folders of the game.

Find folder called “Level_Brainbug” and rename it like this: “Level_BrainBug”

Possible alternative fix (not tested by me):
Change as follows: ForcedFSAA: { “1” } Glow: { “1” } GlowTrail: { “1” } GlobalGlow: { “1” } ParticleGlow: { “1” } Distort: { “0” } and postprocessing also on, PostProcessing: { “1” } Then, to be able to put Model Detail and Effect Quality on max you need to turn off adaptiveperformance, we do this in the same file and we can find it under Performance. AdaptivePerformance: { “0” } By putting this on 0, it’s turned off, and now in the menu in-game we can turn Model Detail and Effect Quality on high instead of it being grayed out on low. Lastly, by putting Shader Quality on Medium, shadows will work! If you set this on medium you can turn on Terrain Shadows and Model Shadows to max.
