OldGamesDownload is a nostalgia safehaven for those of us who wish to archive software that is no longer being sold, published, licensed, copyrighted, etc. This website (and others like it) can only stay online if they abide by strict regulations. They legally cannot keep the files available for free download due to Electronic Arts (EA) republishing “The Sims: Complete Collection” and “The Sims 2: Complete Collection” for The Sims franchise’s 25th anniversary. Though Maxis may have been the original developer, they were bought out by Electronic Arts and absorbed. Sites like OGD are nonprofit, rely on donations and volunteers, and have no legal basis to fight EA on keeping the files available.

Inevitably, like any game of theirs, EA will make the aforementioned titles (and possibly the entirety of The Sims 3) unavailable for purchase. I understand it’s frustrating, but that’s why some of us used to sail in a familiar bay with pirates.

Please be understanding and supportive of OGD and the OGD Team as this is out of their hands. Instead, voice your grievences to EA.
