Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness is a real-time strategy video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The PC and Macintosh versions were published in North America by Blizzard Entertainment in 1995 and in Europe by Ubisoft in 1996. Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness is the official sequel of the original Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. Like its prequel, Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness takes place in the medieval-fantasy world of Warcraft in which, following the events of the first game, the human kingdom of Azeroth has been invaded by the Orcs. Survivors led by Anduin Lothar fled by sea to the Kingdom of Lordaeron. The Humans then try to rally the different races populating the region such as the High Elves and the Dwarves in order to form a coalition capable of repelling the horde. Meanwhile the Orcs, although divided by many internal feuds, decide to follow a powerful new warlord Orgrim Doomhammer in pursuit of the Humans. They must now go beyond the seas and conquer the Kingdom of Lordaeron, where the Humans and their allies have been preparing for the invasion.

when i extract the file, i dont have a the files for tides of darkness or beyond the dark portal, all i have is oldgamesdownlaod, readme, and game files

I was able to figure it out how to get it to run. You have to edit the first line of the “War2.ini” file to this: cdpath=..
Also if you don’t have sound, you will need to run the “War.exe” file first (Within DOSBox) and then setup the top two buttons (at least I did and sound started working fine)
If anyone wants to know how to play via Lan,
go to War2.conf in dosbox put ipx=true (all computers)
On server computer(the one creating game) type at the bottom of the conf above the MOUNT type IPXNET STARTSERVER, save, and look up ip of server computer (ipconfig)
On client computer(joining) type ipxnet connect (whatever server IP is)
ie ipxnet connect 192.168.0.10

Same here. I can play Tides of Darkness with no problem but Beyond the Dark Portal demands the CD to play… 🙁
the .exe file now asks me for the cd and i can’t play anymore (neither tides of darkness and beyond the dark protal). what can i do?
gamecopyworld should have nocd file , I didn’t check it now but they usually have such files to play installed games wout cds.
