Okay, I downloaded “Wolfenstein_2009_Win_Setup_En.zip” inside a Windows 11 VM. I installed it and then checked “Wolf2.exe” in virustotal. Here is the result:

Although some smaller products flags it as generic malware. Do notice that all big AV producs like Kaspersky, ESET-NOD32, BitDefender, Microsoft, Symantec, CrowdStrike Falcon, etc did not flag it.

I installed malwarebytes inside the Windows 11 VM and it also did not flag the Wold2.exe as malware.

So, it looks safe

I’ve just tried to run Wolfenstein on my laptop, which has Windows 11, but no luck. After using the method I used on Windows 10, double clicking Wolf2.exe displays a Wolfenstein loading banner for about ten seconds, then it vanishes and nothing else happens. My solution is to install Windows 10 on my Windows 11 laptop, as I’m sure more old games will work on Windows 10 than on Windows 11.
