Dress-Up and Pretend-Along Stories - When Key unlocks Dress Up Chest, you get to help Blue and friends dress up and pretend to act out three different stories! Doodleboard - Play a doodle-riffic game with Blue as you try to guess what doodle is drawing. Listen for the doodle-clues! Boogie Woogie - Join Boogie Woogie and Roar E. Saurus for a dino-dance-athon! Help Roar E. move to the music in a Boogie Woogie freeze-dance game. Polka Dots - Polka Dots spots something in Doodleboard's drawings. What is it? Find it and then color it in to complete the picture. Fred's Birthday Search - Celebrate at Frederica's birthday party with Blue and Dictionary! And help Blue look in Dictionary to find the birthday surprises Frederica's talking about! Polka Dots' Peek-a-Boo Puzzle - After each of the games described above, find Polka Dots in one of the Peek-a-Boo doors to earn a puzzle piece. THE PRINT CENTER: The print center is a place where you can go to print pictures, flip books, drawings and more. But please be sure to work with an adult when printing projects and making crafts. You can reach the Print Center from the Sign-In screen by clicking on Printables. Printing can also be turned off in the Options screen. Adults please note that several of the projects require the use of scissors and staplers-items that may need adult supervision when using. Printable activities include: Silly Seat Joke Book - Make a knock-knock joke book. Requires a stapler. Doodle, Doodle, Guess - Print out Doodleboard and complete the drawing yourself. Requires drawing supplies. Boogie Woogie Dance Flipbook - Pick from one of 6 flipbook projects. Requires scissors and a stapler. I Spot Coloring Pages - Print coloring pages taken directly from the game. Play I Spot by spotting your own items in the scene and coloring them. Birthday Cards - Cut out the cards and play your own vocabulary concentration game. Requires scissors. Dress Up Costumes - Color, cut out, and try on costumes from Dress Up Chest's stories. Supplies needed: coloring supplies, scissors, and string. Dress Up Stories - Print the stories you created with Dress Up Chest. Peek-A-Boo Puzzle - Print out the Polka Dots puzzles! Requires scissors. INSTALLING: Insert the game CD into your CD-ROM drive. If installation does not start automatically, follow these steps: 1. Click on START. 2. Click on RUN. 3. Type D:\AUTORUN.EXE (where "D" is the letter of your CD-ROM drive) and follow the on-screen instructions. Windows(r) 2000/XP User's Note: Blues Room: Blue Talks! must be installed from a user account with Administrator privileges. During installation, you will be prompted to install DirectX(r) 9.0. Blues Room: Blue Talks! requires DirectX 9.0 or higher. If you do not already have DirectX 9.0 or higher installed, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the DirectX installation Starting Blues Room: Blue Talks! Double click the Blues Room icon on your desktop or click Start\Programs\THQ\Nick Games\Blues Room. Uninstalling To uninstall Blues Room: Blue Talks! click Start\Programs\THQ\Nick Games\Blues Room\Uninstall Blues Room. The game files will be removed from your hard drive. Note: Once You've uninstalled the game, any saved game sessions will be lost. GETTING AROUND THE GAME: Starting the Game and Navigating The opening movie can be skipped by clicking the mouse button. Once you're inside Handy Dandy Journal pick an image to bookmark your game. Then, click the Let's Play button to begin. Picking the same image next time will continue your saved game. >From Handy Dandy Journal you can also change the game's setting by clicking on Options, or print out off-line activities by clicking on Printables. Explore Blue's Room by clicking the left or right sides of the screen to move around. Click on Blue's friends to play games and find other surprises. You can also use the Playdate Spinner in the upper right corner of the screen to go directly to your favorite game. To stop playing an activity, click the Back button. To return to the sign-in screen at any time click on Handy Dandy Journal in the upper left corner of most screens. Press the ALT and F4 keys at any time to quickly exit the Blue's Room program and return to your computer's desktop. PLAYING THE GAMES: Dress-Up and Pretend- Along Stories - Pick a book for Dress Up Chest to read and for Blue and friends to act out. When Dress Up Chest reaches a blank in the story, it's up to you to choose costumes and props for Blue and friends to keep the story going!. Doodle, Doodle, Guess - Listen to Doodleboard and try to guess what he's drawing. When Doodleboard stops, pick the image you think Doodle is doodling. Listen to the doodle-clues for extra help! Boogie Woogie - Play a Freeze-Dance game Blue's Room style! When Boogie Woogie says "Woogie," click Roar E. Saurus to make him stop dancing. When Boogie Woogie says, "Boogie," help Roar E. Saurus get back in the groove. You can mix up Roar E.'s dance moves by clicking the blocks on the floor, and you can change the music by clicking the music block. To start over, just click Boogie Woogie! Polka Dots' I Spot - Listen carefully to what Polka Dots spots, then try to spot it in Doodleboard's drawing. Once you spot the item and click it, pick a color and color it in. Find all the items Polka Dots spots! Fred's Birthday Search - Fred likes to use big words when talking about her birthday. Help Blue understand what Fred is talking about by picking the matching image inside the Dictionary. Then find the item that Fred is describing in the scene. Polka Dots' Peek-a-Boo Puzzle - After finishing each activity Polka Dots pops out of the peek-a-boo doors. Catch Polka Dots and he'll give you a puzzle piece. Successfully place all four pieces to finish the puzzle and print it out. Hot Spots in the Game Click around each area of Blue's Room for little hidden surprises. TROUBLESHOOTING: If the game does not run properly, here are some suggestions: Make sure there are no scratches or fingerprints on the bottom of the disc. (The bottom is the side without printing on it.) For optimal performance we recommend that you close any other applications that are running on your computer prior to playing Blues Room: Blue Talks! We strongly recommend that you obtain the latest DirectX compatible drivers for your video and sound cards. Using drivers that are not compatible with the latest version of DirectX can have unpredictable results. Updated drivers are typically available at no charge through your hardware manufacturer's website.
