Installation -------------------------------------------- Insert the Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 disc. If you have Autorun enabled, the installer should run automatically. If you have Autorun disabled, or the installer doesn't start go to Start -> Run and type in '', where 'D'is the letter of your CD/DVD drive. You will be prompted for your choice of language for the installer program - select it from the list. To continue installation simply follow the on screen prompts. -------------------------------------------- III. StarForce Copy Protection -------------------------------------------- Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 utilises StarForce copy protection technology. You will be asked to restart your PC to finalise the installation of the StarForce drivers when first running the game. The Star Force protection drivers are not removed when Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 is uninstalled, this should not cause problems. However we have included the utility to remove these drivers on the Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 DVD, it can be found within the 'Utils' folder. To remove the drivers; go to Start -> Run and type in 'D:\utils\sfdrvrem.exe', where 'D' is the letter of your CD/DVD drive. However if you do run the uninstall utility for the drivers, when you launch Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 or another protected game again, the drivers will be reinstalled. Running the Game -------------------------------------------- After you install Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 there will be a Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 shortcut on your desktop. Double-click this to start the game. Memory and Performance -------------------------------------------- Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 requires at least 256MB of RAM and a 1Ghz processor;the performance of the game will improve if you have more RAM, a faster processor and graphics card. Regardless of your machine specs, you can maximise your available memory and increase the overall performance of the game by doing the following: • Shut down all non-essential Windows programs especially online chat programs, virus checkers and screen layout utilities. • Regularly defragment your hard drive. • Increase your amount of free hard drive space -------------------------------------------- VII. Graphics and Sound cards -------------------------------------------- GRAPHICS CARDS Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 requires a graphics card with 3D hardware acceleration and at least 64 MB of RAM. The drivers for your graphic card must support DirectX 9 or higher. If you are having any problems running the game,please ensure you have updated your graphic card drivers before contacting technical support. SOUND CARDS If you are experiencing sound abnormalities such as clicking and popping, you may need to turn off sound hardware acceleration. Go to Start, Control Panel, Sound, then find the sound/audio hardware acceleration setting and turn it off. Occasionally, some users may experience poor audio quality when using an onboard nForce sound card in conjunction with certain graphics cards. Please update your nForce drivers and if the problem persists, switch over to the on-board graphics card. -------------------------------------------- VIII.
