PC Readme File 08 October 2005 ------------------------------ Minimum System Requirements: ------------------------------ Windows® 733 MHz processor or higher (1GHz or higher recommended) 256 MB of RAM or higher 450 MB available hard disk space 8x CD-ROM drive or higher 16-Bit DirectX® 9.0c compatible video card w/ 32 MB Graphics Card (64 MB or higher recommended) 16-Bit Sound Blaster compatible sound card Mouse ------------------------------ Installation and Uninstall Instructions: ------------------------------ Note that Cabbage Patch Kids®: Where's My Pony? requires DirectX® 9.0c or later. A.) Installing the program 1. Ensure that Microsoft® Windows® 98, Windows® ME, Windows® 2000 or Windows® XP is running with no other applications open. 2. Insert the Cabbage Patch Kids®: Where's My Pony? CD-ROM into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. 3. If you have the auto insert notification feature (Autoplay) enabled for your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM, the Autorun Menu will now appear. Select Install Game to begin installation and then skip the following three steps. If this feature is not enabled, perform the next three steps. 4. Select Start and then Run from the Microsoft® Windows® taskbar. 5. In the dialog box, type D:\setup ("D:" refers to your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. If your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive is not D:, type the appropriate letter.) 6. Click the OK button. 7. Follow the installation instructions. The Cabbage Patch Kids®: Where's My Pony? CD in the CD-Rom drive is required to play the game. B.) Uninstalling the program 1. Select Start from the Windows® 98, Windows® ME, Windows® 2000 or Windows® XP taskbar and then find the uninstall icon in the D3Publisher\4Kids\Cabbage Patch Kids\Where's My Pony program group. 2. Click the Uninstall Game icon. 3. Follow the uninstall instructions. * You may also uninstall the program by running the Windows® Add/Remove Programs Properties in the Control Panel: 1. Select Start from the Windows® 98, Windows® ME, Windows® 2000 or Windows® XP taskbar and then find and click the Control Panel icon under settings. 2. Double click the Add/Remove Programs icon in the Control Panel folder 3. Select Cabbage Patch Kids - Where's My Pony? from the list of programs and click the "Add/Remove" button. 4. Follow the uninstall instructions. ------------------------------ Game Controls ------------------------------ All moves in Cabbage Patch Kids®: Where's My Pony? use the mouse to control the characters. The controls are: Mouse Movement Moves the cursor Left Button Action (Look At/Talk To/Pick Up/Walk To - Double Click to Run) Right Button Jump Left Button (Hold and Drag) Grabs an object in inventory and drags it across the screen You may also quit the game at any time by pressing either the ESC or Space key ------------------------------ Game Save/Load ------------------------------ Swapping between Administrator and Limited access may cause Save / Load issues with this game. Each character has their unique save slot. The game will autosave at whatever point you quit the game. When you re-load the game, it will automatically drop that player character to the previously saved quit location. If you decide to start a new game, your may select a new character via the main menu selection screen. Note: If you select the same character you were previously playing, any old save data will be overwritten and lost. Saved Game Data is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\CPK as [Kid's number].cpk. Deleting these files will erase ALL your previous saved games. ------------------------------ Mini-Games ------------------------------ There are four mini-games which require player participation and will begin automatically: Chapter 2 River Bank - BunnyBee Tag: Use the mouse to follow. Point and click on BunnyBee a certain number of times to win. Chapter 3 Kid's Home/Fort - Picture Puzzle: Use the mouse to select and re-organize the location of the picture pieces, until the image is whole. Chapter 4 Barn - Sheep Dog collects bones: Press the mouse button to make the sheep dog jump to catch the bones flying above. A certain number will be required to complete this mini-game. Chapter 5 Gear Room - Gear Placement: Drag and place each gear onto its correct position. A horn will sound when you have not placed onto the correct position. A chime will sound when you have placed correctly. Press the Switch (Red Button) at the top left of the screen once all gears are in their correct position. ------------------------------ Bonus BunnyBee Crystals ------------------------------ There are 13 total BunnyBee Crystals that are hidden throughout the game. These crystals unlock images and movies located within the Bonus menu. Press ESC or the SPACEBAR during gameplay to access the Bonus Menu. When viewing a picture, simply press the print button at the lower right screen to print a copy of the image to your printer. When viewing a movie, press any key to stop play and return to the Bonus Menu. Below is a listing of each crystals location, and which images or movies they unlock when collected. Chapter 1 Top left of the hay loft - Image 1 Chapter 2 Outside the trailer behind the bushes in the front - Image 2 At the river where the bunny bee game takes place, on the right hand side behind the bushes - Image 3 In the forest after you walk down the 1st path on the left - Movie 1 Chapter 3 In front of the house behind the bushes - Image 4 To the left of the fort when you are at the entrance on the corner - Image 5 Chapter 4 At the tollbooth, on the mountain at the lower right hand side - Image 6 At the sunflower screen hidden back on the left side - Movie 2 When at the farmhouse, on the left hand side behind the bushes - Image 7 Chapter 5 At the start by the river behind the bush on the bottom left - Image 8 When you are on the road to where the windmill is, on the left hand side behind the bushes - Image 9 At the Fork in the road on the way to the Farmers House, on the right side behind the tree - Image 10 Next to the tractor, which is located in front of the barn - Movie 3 ------------------------------ Troubleshooting and Known Issues ------------------------------ The following may help if you are having problems running Cabbage Patch Kids®: Where's My Pony?: 1. Install the most recent video and audio drivers. 2. 32MB NVidia TNT Cards - slow frame rates have been observed. 3. LCD screen owners - If your LCD screen does not display the game properly, please use the Auto Adjust feature on your LCD screen to fix the issue. ------------------------- Online Manual ------------------------- There is an online manual on the Cabbage Patch Kids®: Where's My Pony? CD-ROM. The online manual is an Adobe Acrobat .pdf format. You must have a reader installed to view the manual.
