Thank you for downloading Adventure Gamers' very first (this may be glaringly obvious in just a few moments) adventure game, Christmas Quest: The Best Adventure Game Ever! The object of the game is very simple: have fun!! Sure, there are some in-game objectives, as well, but you'll discover those soon enough. No sneak peeks, sorry. As for the gameplay, Christmas Quest should be very familiar to anyone who's played an old school adventure. Yes, taking our rightful place alongside such giants as Sierra and LucasArts, Adventure Gamers is pleased to offer you a traditional point & click game that's a snap to learn. After downloading the zip file, simply unzip it to the directory of your choice. There you'll find the setup and game icons. Feel free to twiddle around with the settings you prefer. That's right - this is our professional technical advice: twiddle. Once in the game, to access commands, simply right click your mouse to scroll through possible actions. For the menu bar and inventory, move your cursor to the top of the screen, and it'll pop out of nowhere (it's shy). The list of actions is as follows: Boot icon: walk Eyeball icon: look Mitten icon: interact Pan icon: completely irrelevant AND irreverent comments! First you'll have to find it, though. In the menu bar, additional icons include: Santa's sack: inventory Wrapped present: save game Unwrapped present: load game Doorway: quit game (you SO don't want to use this one) So what do you do to proceed in the game? Just select your appropriate cursor (although we reward inappropriate cursor picking!) and use them when you find an interactive hotspot. If you can't figure out the rest, you're probably playing the wrong game. And how, you may ask, have we managed to provide this level of sophistication, talent, and overall flamboyance for FREE?? Well, setting aside the blood, sweat, and tears of those crazy enough to be involved, Christmas Quest uses the Adventure Game Studio engine (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/), without which you'd be playing a text game right now. Enjoy the game, everybody. We hope you have as much fun playing it as we did making it (without all the fighting and swearing). Long live the adventure!
