Gameplay ----------- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a game that can be played with 1-3 players. The first player can be chosen from a menu at the beginning of each level. New players can choose to be any of the remaining two characters. However, Harry must face the Triwizard Tournament tasks and the battle with Lord Voldemort alone. To drop-in to an existing game simply press ESC on the keyboard and select a character from the menu. For second and third players, you will need a DirectX 9.0c compatible input device (see Peripherals below for more details). --------------------------- 2. Default Controls --------------------------- Menu Controls ------------- Arrow Keys - navigate menus ESC - bring up pause menu/cancel cutscenes SPACE/RETURN - select/confirm (View and buy in the Folio Universitas) BACKSPACE - back/cancel I and C are used on Level Select to get Info or open the Folio Universitas to look at collector's cards PAGE UP/DOWN are used to move through the card sets whilst in the Folio Universitas Game Controls ------------- Arrow Keys - character movement C - Charm X - Jinx Z - Accio S - Magicus Extremos Triwizard 1 ----------- Cursor keys – movement C – accelerate Triwizard 2 ----------- Cursor keys – movement X – Jinx C – accelerate --------------------------- 3. Minimum PC Configuration --------------------------- In the event of any problems, please ensure that your PC meets the minimum specification as stated below. Operating System Windows 2000/XP Processor 1.2GHz Pentium 3 or comparable Memory 256MB Video card 32MB HDD Space 1.1GB Soundcard DirectX 9.0c or higher compliant sound card DirectX DirectX 9.0c --------------- 4. Installation --------------- NOTE: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will only install and run on machines installed with Windows 2000 or Windows XP. 1. Start your machine and wait for the Windows 2000/XP operating system to load. 2. Insert the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire disc and follow the on-screen instructions to install Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. NOTE: This game requires DirectX 9.0c or higher to be installed. 3. The installation program adds a program group called Electronic Arts\Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to your Start\Programs menu, and a shortcut to your desktop. Click on this shortcut or alternatively click on the Start button on your Windows task bar. Under Programs\Electronic Arts\Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire select Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to play. ---------- 5. DirectX ---------- For your convenience, we have included DirectX 9.0c on the Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire disc. To install DirectX 9.0c manually, make sure the Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire disc is in the CD/DVD-ROM drive and browse to the following folder. "\Directx" and click on DXSETUP.EXE Follow the on screen instructions. *It is highly recommended that you ensure that your computer's components are utilising the most recent DirectX 9.0c compatible software drivers. Please consult your card manufacturer for their newest drivers. ------------ 6. Uninstall ------------ To uninstall Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire go to Programs\Electronic Arts\Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in the Start menu. Click on Uninstall to proceed. Alternatively, click on the Start menu, select Settings and then Control Panel. Now find Add/Remove Programs and click to run. Scroll down the list until you see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, select it and click on Add/Remove to uninstall. ----------- 7. Peripherals ----------- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire supports any DirectX 9.0c compatible input device. To play a two or three player game you will need to have a USB hub and any DirectX 9.0c compatible input device for the second and third players. If you are experiencing any problems with the configuration of your input device, you can choose to manually re-configure it: *Go to Programs\Electronic Arts\Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in the Start menu and select "Controller Configuration". *The controller configuration program should detect all input devices connected before the program was launched. *Select the input device you wish to configure, click "Start Configuration" and follow the on screen instructions. *When you have completed configuration, click "Save configuration" to save your settings or "Quit" to restart the process. ----- 8. Help ----- If you are unable to resolve your problem with the above notes, use the help file that contains EA's technical support. It is located under "Technical Support" in Start\Programs\Electronic Arts\Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. -------------- 9. Trouble Shooting -------------- Computer hardware manufacturers are constantly updating their driver software so that their hardware can play the latest software programs with the best possible performance. If your system is not using the latest driver please consider obtaining an updated driver.
