Installation & Launch Instructions ################################################################################ 1.1 INSTALLING Imagine Pet Hospital Insert the Imagine Pet Hospital disk into your DVD-ROM drive. (If the installer does not start on its own, double-click on My Computer and then double-click on the Imagine Pet Hospital icon that appears.) Follow the onscreen instructions. After the game is installed, install QuickTime 7.5.5 if you do not already have it on your computer. To install QuickTime 7.5.5 or upgrade your version, go to www.apple.com/quicktime/ to download the free player. (Note: If you have a version of QuickTime more recent than 7.4.1, you can skip this step.) 1.2 STARTING Imagine Pet Hospital Double-click the Imagine Pet Hospital shortcut on your desktop. You can also go to the Start menu, locate the Legacy Interactive folder in your Program files and select Imagine Pet Hospital. 1.3 UNINSTALLING Imagine Pet Hospital In Windows, in the Start menu, locate the Imagine Pet Hospital group and select Uninstall Imagine Pet Hospital. Installing Graphics and Motherboard Drivers If you experience any graphical problems, please install the latest video and motherboard drivers available for your Graphics Card. Installing Sound Drivers If you experience any sound problems, please install the latest sound drivers available for your sound card. Installing DirectX Imagine Pet Hospital requires DirectX 8.1 or more recent to run properly. Bugs and Comments If you experience a blank or black screen upon launching the program, it may be because your computer does not have QuickTime 7.4.1 installed. Alternatively, if you chose to play in Full Screen mode, try Windowed mode instead. Verify that you have QuickTime 7.4.1 (or higher) installed. Go to the Start Menu, then Settings (Windows XP users should just go to the Start Menu). Click on Control Panel and then double-click QuickTime. Choose About QuickTime from the drop-down list. To install QuickTime 7.5.5 or upgrade your version, go to www.apple.com/quicktime to download the free player. You may need to restart your computer before launching Imagine Pet Hospital. If your computer locks up when you are launching the program, it may be because your computer does not have DirectX 8.1 installed. To install DirectX 8.1 or upgrade a previous version, go to www.microsoft.com/directx and download the free application. You may need to restart your computer before launching Imagine Pet Hospital. If your computer is in 256 color, you will need to change it to 16-bit or 32-bit. For Windows XP Right-click on your desktop and select 'Properties.' Click on the 'Settings' tab and change the 'Color quality' option. For Windows Vista, right click the desktop and select Personalize. Next select Display Settings and set the color setting to "Highest (32 bit)". Check to be sure that you have the latest available driver versions for your sound and video cards. Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional users should have Standard or Administrative user access to install the program properly. For best results, close any other programs that are running on your computer prior to starting Imagine Pet Hospital. If you are using Vista and have a problem viewing the Credits, then you probably do not have QuickTime 7.4.1 or higher. Please update your QuickTime version and retry. This game is not made to support any peripheral devices other than the mouse, keyboard and speakers/headphones. Controllers, joysticks, microphones and other peripherals may cause issues when they are used with this game. This game was tested on the following Operating Systems and service packs: Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1, Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3, Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2. If you are using Windows Vista(R) make sure that the account you are logged into has the proper permissions to install programs.
