If you have any questions or are having problems, please read this first. Please note the default mouse sensitivity is set to 25%, it should be 50%. The Jimmy White's Cueball World installer should start. If it does not, double click My Computer on your desktop. In the window this brings up, double click your CD drive icon and run the LAUNCHER.EXE program. Note: You MUST have DirectX 8 or newer installed on your system to play Jimmy White's Cueball World. If you do not have DirectX 8 or later, the installer will install DirectX 8. Once installed, you may play Jimmy White's Cueball World. ========================================= II) Playing Jimmy White's Cueball World ========================================= Once Jimmy White's Cueball World is installed, you can run the game from the Start Menu under Programs/Cueball World. This will take you to an opening screen. From there you will be presented with a triangular pack of icons. The top three icons will take you to either Pool, Snooker or Billiards. Proceed through the menus until you enter a game. Once you enter a game the following keyboard shortcuts become active: Press: ESC = quit to main menu U = undo shot R = redo shot 1-9 = set power F5 = demo mode HOME = go to Cueball P - plan view on/off Numpad 1-9 = set English (spin) Numpad + = x4 power C = chalk V = change viewline RETURN = take shot Cursor keys = move camera Hold and move mouse: A = raise/lower cue angle Z = zoom in/out S = mouse cueing E = English (spin) X = cue movement =========================================== III) GameSpy =========================================== To play Cueball World on the Internet it is advisable to use GameSpy. Install GameSpy Arcade when you are offered the chance during installation. Arcade will scan your computer for Cueball World. If the game doesn't appear under the Games tab, just go to the GameSpy menu, then select Scan for Games. Arcade will then scan your machine, and installed games should appear. If Arcade still can't find a the game and you know it to be installed on your computer, go to GameSpy, Options, Games. Highlight the game in the Not Installed menu on the left. Now, click Browse and locate the game's executable on your computer. Under the Games tab, Arcade will list supported games that you have installed on your computer. Clicking the games will take you to that game's Arcade room. Go to the Games tab and click on the game icon for Cueball World. You'll be taken to a chat room for the game, which will appear in the lower half of the center window of the application. You can hang out in the chat room and talk to people or get right to the good stuff and create/join a game. Make sure to note the exact type of hardware that you are using in your system, including: - Speed and Manufacturer of your Processor. (Intel, AMD etc..) - Make & Model of your Sound Card. (Creative Labs etc..) - Make & Model of your Video Card. (Ge Force, 3DFX etc..) - Make & Model of your CD-ROM drive. (Panasonic, Creative etc..) - Amount of RAM present. (64mb, 128mb etc..) - Any additional Hardware and Peripherals. (Webcams, Scanners etc..) - Information contained in your Config.Sys & Autoexec.Bat files. - Direct X information* *To obtain information relating to DirectX on your system, simply click on Start and then Run. Next, type in DXDIAG in the open box and then click OK to bring up the Diagnostics window. You should be primarily interested in the information concerning your Sound card and Display (video) card. A copy of your DXDIAG information at hand is also useful. Note: If you have any problems in obtaining any System Information please consult your System supplier. It is extremely important that you have the information above at hand when you call. Virgin Interactive cannot give you this information entirely on the basis of you telling us which system you have, as you will often find that different configurations are used when building the same model of PC and there are many models of PC available.. HELP VIA FAX: When sending us a fax, please remember to leave your fax machine switched on and ready to receive. If you are using a Telephone/Fax system please make sure that the Fax connection is enabled. Ensure to include your name, a return fax number with the area code and a voice number so we can contact you if we experience problems when trying to fax you back. HELP VIA EMAIL: When sending us an email, please use only the title of the game in question in your subject header as words like "help" or empty spaced will often be met with a generic, autotmated response. HELP VIA POST: When contacting us by post, ensure you include the Title & Version of the game, a detailed description of the problem you are experiencing and the exact type of hardware that you are using as detailed above.
