Minimum PC Configuration --------------------------- Processor - Pentium® II 300 Memory - 64 Mb RAM HDD Space - 330 Mb free hard disk space Operating System - Windows® 95/98/ME/2000 CD ROM Drive Videocard - 8mb 3D Hardware Accelerator Card with Direct3D(TM) support Soundcard - DirectX 8.0a compliant sound card DirectX - DirectX 8.0a (supplied with CD) --------------- 2. Installation --------------- Note: AFL COACH 2002 will only install and run on machines installed with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME or Windows 2000. 1. Start your machine and wait for the Windows 95/98/ME/2000 operating system to load. 2. Place the AFL COACH 2002 CD in the CD drive. 3. Windows will automatically detect the CD and begin the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions to install AFL COACH 2002. If you need to install DirectX 8.0a, you can do this as part of the installation. AFL COACH 2002 will then be ready to play. 4. The installation program creates a program group called AFL COACH 2002 and adds it to your Start/Programs menu. Left-click on the Start button on your Windows task bar. Under Programs, select and click AFL COACH 2002 to play. Note: Should Windows fail to recognize the CD and fail to run the installation program, run 'install.exe' from the CD. ---------- 3. DirectX ---------- The game will not run correctly without DirectX8.0 installed. For your convenience, we have included DirectX8.0 on the CD. a) Installing DirectX8.0 directly from CD (if you skipped it during game install) AFL COACH 2002 comes with DirectX8.0a and will prompt you to install it during installation. If you would like to install it manually, make sure the AFL COACH 2002 CD is in the CD-ROM drive change to the following folder on your CD-ROM drive: "\DirectX8" and double-click on DXSETUP.EXE b) DirectX8.0 and supported hardware We recommend that AFL COACH 2002 be run with DirectX compatible sound boards and video cards. While there is a chance that AFL COACH 2002 will run with non-DirectX compatible hardware, you may find that: i) Sound quality suffers. ii) The game runs slower. iii) The game does not run at all. If your sound card or video card does not support DirectX, please contact your vendor. ------------ 4. Uninstall ------------ To uninstall AFL COACH 2002 go to Programs, Uninstall AFL COACH 2002 in the Start menu. Left-click on Uninstall AFL COACH 2002 to proceed. Should this fail to work, left-click on the Start menu, select Settings and then Control Panel. Now find Add/Remove Programs and double left-click to run. Scroll down the list until you see AFL COACH 2002, select it and left-click on Add/Remove to uninstall. If the uninstaller fails to completely remove AFL COACH 2002 (it may not, for example, delete your Saved Games folder), delete the folder to which you installed the game. Thus, if you have used the default directories, double left-click on My Computer, double left-click on the C: drive, double left-click on Program Files, left click on the Saddle Club - Willowbrook Stables folder, then right click and select Delete. Click Yes to confirm. This will send the remaining files to the Recycle Bin, which you will then need to empty. --------------------- 5. Gameplay additions --------------------- Make sure you read the Tips in the manual . This will give you helpful hints on gameplay. -------------------------------- 6. Notes on video card chipsets -------------------------------- To run correctly, AFL COACH 2002 requires DirectX 8.0a or higher and a 3D accelerated graphics card with a minimum of 8 Megabytes of memory. The game has been tested on the following cards, although more cards may be supported: Voodoo III Voodoo 5 Millennium G400/G450 nVidia Riva TNT 2 nVidia GeForce 256 nVidia GeForce2 MX TNT 32MB Known incompatability issues: Voodoo2 8Meg - White Textures, ground "frosting" Voodoo Banshee 16Meg - White Textures, "frosting" Matrox G200 8MB Agp - minor lightmap issues Riva TNT2 16MB Agp - cycling through textures Note: if the game is running slowly on your computer you should think about updating your PC and/or Video card (extra RAM will also help) If you are experiencing problems with your video card and AFL COACH 2002, try updating your video card driver by downloading the latest driver available from the video card manufacturer. If there is no improvement, try using the latest driver provided by the video chipset manufacturer. Your video card chipset is the video processing chip located on your video card. If there is no information in your video card manual or website, check the video card for an identifying chip with the chipset manufacturer's name on it.
