1. Minimum System Requirements

MacOS 8.5 or later
120 Mhz PowerPC 604 or faster
at least 64 MB of physical RAM with virtual memory turned on
at least 128 MB of physical RAM with virtual memory turned off
a CD-ROM drive
a network connection is required for online play

2. Apple Game Sprockets

Links LS 2000 requires NetSprocket and SoundSpocket. These are both part of Apple's Game Sprockets. The latest installer for Game Sprockets (1.7.5) is included on the LS2000_1 install CD. Some versions of MacOS install all of the Game Sprockets, but older versions do not.

When you run Links LS 2000 an error message will be displayed if you need to install the Game Sprockets.

3. Gameranger

Game Ranger (www.gameranger.com) is a free Macintosh multiplayer online gaming service.

GameRanger provides a completely customized Macintosh-friendly environment for players to meet worthy opponents, organize and play games, discuss strategies, and exchange tricks and ideas. 

Simply install Game Ranger (the installer is on the LS2000_1 install CD, double click it and follow the onscreen instructions to setup your Game Ranger account.

4. Intel Indeo Video codec

The Intel Indeo Video 5 codec is installed to your system during the Links install process. It is required by Links LS 2000 to view multimedia video files.
