Double-click the malkari.exe icon to start the game, or select I-Magic Games\Malkari\Malkari from the Start Menu. ------------------------------------------------------------------ MODULE TABLES INFORMATION: -The online manual is an expanded version of the printed manual providing a full set of module tables. To access this manual, select Online Manual from the AutoPlay Screen, and then select the Book icon. Or you may open up the Malkari CD, click on the Stuff/Manual folders then double left click on the Malkari.pdf file. You will need Adobe Acrobat to read the manual. It is located in the Stuff/Manual/Acrobat folder. Just click on the Setup.exe and follow the instructions. ------------------------------------------------------------------ VIDEO CARD ISSUES: -If you have a video card with the ATI Rage Pro chipset and you experience cursor dropping, here is a workaround from ATI's website: Go to My Computer/Control Panel/System/Performance/Graphics and set the Hardware Acceleration slider to one notch above none (basic accelerator functions). ------------------------------------------------------------------ POWER SAVE: -If your monitor's power save feature comes on, it may interfere with game play. ------------------------------------------------------------------ CUSTOMIZING VOICES You can customize the voice files in Malkari if you wish to do so by following these steps. See note #2 at the bottom before proceeding: 1) Using Windows Explorer, go to the directory where you've installed Malkari (C:\I-Magic\Malkari by default) 2) Open the Sounds directory. 3) Open the voices directory. 4) Open the directory which corresponds to the guild whose voice files you would like to change. G1 = The Crimson Dawn G2 = The Emerald Combine G3 = The Blue Talon Corps G4 = Golden Order of Reason G5 = The Diamond Cooperative 5) This directory will consist of a number of .wav files with a name of x##.wav where x is a letter from 'a' to 'e' and ## is a number from 1 to 38. 6) Substitute your custom 16 bit .wav file for the file you wish to replace by giving it the same name and overwriting the file (you may want to copy this file someplace else in case there are problems). The numbers in the filename correspond to the following actions in the game 1 - Construction Initiated 2 - Construction failed 3 - Construction failed - no construction capability 4 - Construction failed - resource deficiency 5 - Modification initiated 6 - Modification failed 7 - Modification failed - unit to modify is no more 8 - No ship selected 9 - Cannot order an enemy ship 10 - Set height 11 - Friendly target acquired 12 - Enemy target acquired 13 - Invalid target 14 - scan initiated 15 - survey initiated 16 - formation move initiated 17 - recharger has power transfer rate of 0 18 - recharger has no power to transfer 19 - recharger cannot recharge itself 20 - received target to transfer power to 21 - refueling asteroid target acquired 22 - recharge target acknowledged 23 - repairer has no construction ability 24 - repairee has no damage 25 - repair target received 26 - self repairing 27 - rebuild initiated 28 - rebuild failed 29 - rebuild failed - unit to rebuild is no more 30 - constructor has no construction capability 31 - select a template... 32 - decommissioner has no construction capability 33 - decommissioner cannot decommission itself 34 - decommissioning intiated 35 - self destruct initiated 36 - cannot intercept a unit in transit space 37 - cannot attack a friendly ship 38 - target in view.
