In order to get the the best performance whilst playing, it is recommended that you download the lastest Driver software for your Videocard and Soundcard. Older drivers may not support all the features of you hardware, so if you experience any problems whilst playing the game, obtain the latest drivers from your computers supplier. In most cases you can download new Drivers from the Internet from the manufacturers of the Hardware fitted in your PC. You can see what hardware is fitted in your machine by opening the System Icon in the Windows Control Panel, and then selecting the Device Manager Tab. Hardware Specific Issues ------------------------ Legacy Soundblaster Devices (SB16, SB32, AWE 32, AWE 64) If you experience any problems during Multiplayer or singleplayer races, then we recommend obtaining the latest Sound Blasters drivers from www.creativelabs.com. In all cases we have found that this corrects all issues. Permedia 2 Based Cards (Diamond FireGL 1000 etc) If you experience any glitching of menus and the backgrounds behind in-game text, then get the most recent version of the Permedia 2 reference drivers from www.permedia.com. These correct such problems. 3DFX Voodoo Range Accelerators (3DFX Voodoo 1, Voodoo 2, Voodoo 3) We highly recommend downloading the latest 3DFX Reference drivers for this series of cards as it provides greater performance during the game and can correct Mip-Mapping problems seen with other drivers for this range. Visit www.3dfxgamers.com in order to obtain these. ATI cards On certain older drivers the menu colours may appear incorrectly (usually shades of pink). If you experience this problem, then visit www.ati.com to obtain the latest drivers for your card. Multiplayer Notes ----------------- Rally Masters requires your machine to have the TCP/IP protocol installed. Most Modems will set this up automatically, but for LAN this can be added by going to the Network Icon under the Windows Control Panel. In order to play the game across the Internet via Modem, please connect to the Internet first and then start a Multiplayer game from either the Main Game Menu, or from the Windows Start bar. To get the best Multiplayer performance, ensure you set the Rate to the correct speed based on your LAN or Internet connection. This can be changed from any of the Lobby Screens. Once a game has been started, you have a limited time to select the Track or Car you will race with, this can be seen in the lower right corner of the screen. Rally Masters includes a Dedicated Server, that can be started from the Main Lobby Screen, or from the Server folder in the games install directory on your Harddrive. An additional readme file in the same folder lists more details on the Server and associated features. Manual Addendments ------------------ Rally Masters Trophy: During this mode, you can now see where you are placed with respect to the other drivers when you pass a split point. This lists the times made by other drivers on the course you are racing. Position Bar: The position bar on the In-game HUD has been improved to show the different cars more clearly. You car is always depicted in red during single player, and according to your position in Multiplayer. When you cycle through cars with F3, you can see which car you are viewing as the driver of the car will appear briefly over the current car on camera. Controls: Multiplayer Spectator F4 Key (Switch between Races). This feature has been removed.
