Unsupported Extras =============================== AI Editor The AI Editor is an extra we left on the CD in a folder called EXTRAS. Place the AI Editor.exe in the same folder as NASCAR 2000.exe. To allow the AIDATA.BIN (located in the DATA\AI folder) file to be modified right click on the file and go to properties and uncheck read only. Run AI Editor.exe and modify the AI values then save back to the file. AI Line Tool The AI Line Tool is another extra that we left on the CD in the folder called EXTRAS. To create a new AI line you must first create a folder called "AI" in the data/tracks folder of the game. Run the program and go to Practice. Your fastest lap will be recorded and saved out to the AI folder. (Make sure that your skid marks line up at the start/finish line so the AI connects smoothly here). The file saved out will have a name similar to the track that it was set for. For instance, if it was at Atlanta, the file will be called Atl.ai. Take this file and place it in the data/tracks folder. Make sure that you save the original AI files off in a different folder if you want to go back to them, otherwise you will have to reinstall the game for the original files. =============================== IV. Known Hardware Problems =============================== - It is highly recommended that the latest versions of all video and sound drivers are obtained and installed. - For the Intel 740 cards like the REAL 3D Starfighter it is recommended that the reference drivers are used. - Users with the ATI Rage 128 Fury, Rage 128 Fury Pro, and the ATI Rage 128 Fury MAXX (if not detecting the ability to run D3D manually) change the ZBUFFERCHECK in the setting.txt file in the DATA folder to ZBUFFERCHECK=0. They have fixed this in their latest BETA drivers. - Turning the power off on the Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad while in-game will cause the game to momentarily freeze and will result in the loss of controller functions. - If there is any loss of calibration with controllers ensure that the "Poll with interrupts enabled" option is unchecked in the Game Controller Applet. =============================== V.
