WELCOME

Thank-you for purchasing NIRA Intense Import Drag Racing,
the most realistic and exciting import drag racing game
ever developed for the PC.

This file contains information on features that were added
or modified since the printing of the manual.


INSTALLING
---------------------------------------------------------------
You can install NIRA from Windows using several methods.

1) If your computer is set up to autoplay CD's simply insert
   the NIRA CD into the CD ROM drive and select the INSTALL
   button.

2) You may run the SETUP program by opening the CD drive
   from My Computer and double-clicking on the SETUP icon.

3) You can run SETUP by selecting RUN from the START button
   and typing the drive letter of your CD ROM followed by
   a colon and slash (:\), followed by SETUP, i.e. C:\SETUP.

To install NIRA from a DOS prompt, switch to the drive
   containing the NIRA CD by typing the drive letter followed
   by a colon, i.e C:. Type INSTALL to start the install
   program.


ADDITIONAL FEATURES/INFORMATION

1) The 3Dfx version requires Glide drivers to run correctly.
   We have included the drivers as part of the package. The
   drivers are found in the 3DFX directory. If this doesn't
   work (you get a GLIDE error), download and install the
   latest GLIDE drivers from 3Dfx web site (www.3dfx.com).
   The drivers for Voodoo, RUSH and Voodoo 2 can be found
   in the directory 3DFX.

2) Nitrous Injection has been added to a button press. The
   control is assignable under Control Setup. The button must
   be held down for the injection to take place. When Nitrous
   is selected, the engine graph will display the power and
   torque curves both on and off nitrous to help you determine
   when you want to engage it. The dimmer graph is the engine
   with Nitrous off.  The 'N' Key is the default Nitrous key.

3) Some Keyboards do not report certain key press information
   when certain combinations of keys are held down at the same
   time.  If you use the keyboard while racing, and experience
   what appears to be a key not doing what it is supposed to,
   you should try reassinging the key to a different key.

4) PAINT SHOP:  The paste tool has been changed so it does a
   transparent paste.  The right color is the transparent
   color.  Any pixels in the paste buffer that are the same
   color as the right color, will not be pasted.
