Graphics, Performance and Gameplay troubleshooting FAQ ================================================================================ Q: I am not able to play NETHERWORLD BEYOND TIME I STAND in full-screen mode. What can I do ? A: You can press Alt+Enter to toggle between windowed and full screen mode. Q: The gameplay is jerky and the framerate is very low.. What can I do? A: There are several things which may cause the game to run slower than expected: 1) Some background applications may have a negative impact on the performance of the game, thus it's preferable to close most of them to leave more resources for the purpose of the game. For instance virus protection software may monitor memory and hard drive access thus slowing down your PC. Also, make sure that your PC is free from viruses and spyware. 2) Install latest graphics card drivers from your graphics card vendors web page. Graphics card vendors constantly optimize and fix their drivers thus it's good to keep your graphics card drivers up to date to maximize your gaming experience. If you have an nVidia graphics card you can update your drivers here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us For ATI/AMD graphics cards update your drivers here: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html 3) Install the latest DirectX (www.microsoft.com) and drivers for other peripherals (motherboard, sound card, etc.) 4) Defragment your hard drive to optimize your hard drive performance. 5) Try to find a good balance between quality and performance with graphics settings (resolution, texture filtering, etc.) to match your needs. Q: After I complete the game once, and start playing with a new profile or if I load the first checkpoint of the current profile, I have access to all 4 characters from the first level itself. A: In order to resolve this issue, please perform the following steps: 1) After you complete the game once, please create a new profile and quit the game without starting the new game. 2) Please go to the folder where you have installed the game (Default Path: C:\Program Files\FXLabs\NetherWorldBeyondTimeIStand\System\CircleSpecificInis\COMPLETEGAME) 3) Copy all files from the COMPLETEGAME folder. 4) Paste these files in the System Folder (Default Path: C:\Program Files\FXLabs\NetherWorldBeyondTimeIStand\System). 5) Now launch the game, select the new profile that you had created and play the game from the beginning. Q: When I start playing a new game, I am unable to transform to other characters using the 'E' key. A: In order to resolve this issue, please perform the following steps: 1) Please create a new profile and quit the game without starting the new game. 2) Go to the folder where you have installed the game (Default Path: C:\Program Files\FXLabs\NetherWorldBeyondTimeIStand\System\CircleSpecificInis\COMPLETEGAME) 3) Now launch the game, select the new profile that you had created and play the game from the beginning. Q: While playing the game with Shadow selected, I am unable to grapple. A: Sometimes, while playing the game using Shadow, you will be unable to grapple, even though the grapple icon is present on the wall. In order to resolve this issue, we suggest you reload the current checkpoint. Reloading the current checkpoint will resolve this issue. Q: The game crashes on minimizing or task switching to another application. A: The game might crash or stop responding to input after minimizing or task switching. Whenever you contact the Technical Support Department, please include the following information in the e-mail: Error Information: - Complete product title - Exact error message reported (if applicable) and a brief description of the problem you're encountering Hardware Information: Attach Dxdiag.txt file to the e-mail. To start the DirectX Diagnostic Tool please perform the following steps: 1) From your Windows "Start" button, select "Run" 2) Type DXDIAG in the "Open:" field and hit Enter. 3) DXDIAG will start, and may display a prompt that begins "Do you want to allow DxDiag to check if your drivers are digitally signed..." Answer "Yes" to this query if it appears. 4) A window entitled "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" appears, and in the lower left corner, a progress meter begins to advance towards the right as DXDIAG collects information relating to the system's hardware and Windows component configuration. 5) When the progress indicator disappears, hit the "Save All Information" button. Save this file as DXDIAG.TXT where it can be easily located. By default, DXDIAG will place this file on the Desktop. 6) Send this text file as an attachment.
