SB Live or compatible 3D card 8x CD ROM Drive 450Mb Hard Disk Space ******************************************************************************************* KNOWN ISSUES & INFO ======================= - Paris-Dakar Rally requires DirectX 8a (or higher) in order for the game to run at it's best. It is also essential that the drivers for your graphics cards are truely DX8a compatible. Some 16 Mb 3D AGP Graphics Cards do not have DX8a supported drivers. At the time of release these are the ones we know of: Nvidia TNT based cards, Matrox G200, 3Dfx Voodoo 3 (DX8a only supported in Windows 2000), ATi Rage Fury Maxx. - If you look on the CD, many drivers are included for supported video cards. If you cannot find your cards drivers on the CD, sorry, but you will have to get them off the net. Please read the 'Drivers Readme.txt' file included in that directory before installing the drivers. - If you do experience issues with the performance of Paris-Dakar Rally we strongly advise you seek out the latest drivers for your card. If this does not improve things then we have provided a range of tweaks (available in the Graphics options within the game) Peripheral Support & Configuration =================================== - Paris-Dakar Rally supports any peripheral that is fully DirectInput compliant. To our knowledge this means most of the Microsoft range of peripherals and most of the other leading brands will work fine. - The Controller configuration screen will give you the option to choose from any supported controllers plugged into your PC. - Each controller type should have a predefined default setup but bare in mind that the number of keys available and the way each manufacturer has mapped their keys you may find that some 'defaults' are a bit odd. All you need to do is redefine them. - In order to remap a function to a new key or button follow this method: 1) Press the button or key that you want to use twice. 2) A Menu appears on left hand side of the screen which has the list of game functions that you can assign to the keys or buttons. 3) Select the fucntion with your mouse and it will get assigned to that button or key. 4) Repeat this for all the buttons that you want to remap. - You new key configuration will be saved independantly to the main save game.
