INSTALLATION & SET UP

	Windows 2000 Professional (Workstation) plus SP4
	Windows XP (Home & Pro) plus SP2

2. Minimum System Requirements

 	Pentium III or AMD Athlon 1.0 GHz processor
 	256MB RAM
 	8X DVD Drive
	64 MB Windows compatible video card with Vertex Shader 1.1 & Pixel shader 1.1 support.
 	DirectX version 8.1 or higher Windows compatible sound card.
 	3 GB Hard disk space

4. DirectX Detection & Installation

Black Buccaneer requires DirectX 9.0c to be installed before playing.

The Black Buccaneer installer attempts to check the current version of
DirectX that is currently installed and will prompt you to install DirectX 9.0c
if it thinks it necessary. On the rare occasions that an error during the auto-detection
could occur, then you can install DirectX 9.0c by running DirectX9\dxsetup.exe on the first installation CDROM.

5. Windows Installer Updates

The Windows Installer may need to be updated.  If this is the case, 
the Black Buccaneer installer will update the Windows Installer, reboot the 
machine, then continue normally.

2. Game controllers

Most DirectX compatible with at least 12 buttons game controllers with 2 analogue sticks can be used to play Black Buccaneer. 
Please ensure that you have the latest drivers for your controller before playing the game. Visit your hardware manufacturer's website for details.  
Please refer to the game launcher to determine the operation of these bindings.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. Video Issues

Black Buccaneer will automatically configure optimal video settings based on
your computer's hardware. If your hardware changes after install, or if you wish to reconfigure them in the Main Menu, select OPTIONS, and then click the DEFAULT SETTINGS button. If the screen resolution are changed then these will take effect after Black Buccaneer has been restarted. 

a) Video card drivers

In order to ensure the best performance, compatibility  and video quality, please ensure that youhave the latest drivers for your video card before running Black Buccaneer. Please visityour video card manufacturer's website for the latest drivers.

2. Sound Issues

a) Sound card drivers

Please ensure that you have the latest drivers for your sound card installed before playing Black Buccaneer.

b) The sound stutters while playing (or other sound issues)

Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your sound card. If the problem persists, try reducing the Hardware Acceleration level. Click on Start, then Run. Type "dxdiag" and hit enter. This will launch the "DirectX Diagnostic Tool". Click on the Sound tab and try reducing the"Hardware Sound Acceleration Level" slider.

Please note that doing this may degrade the game performance.
