I'll admit it. In fact, I don't even think it was a great game at all. It was never really meant to be, but it ended up being bad for different reasons than I intended, like the parser from hell. Still, I loved it in the same way a father loves his son even though he's a miserable failure at everything. Shortly after that mind-numbing fiasco, once I had recovered from scripting together that parser in AGS, I drew a bunch of Rode Kill related characters in low res again. I don't know why. It was probably trauma. Anyways, these characters didn't look half bad. They looked like something anyways. So I drew more stuff. Then I wrote a little thingy. Then I drew more stuff. Then I stopped for no reason at all. A little less than a year later, right around the anniversary of the release of Rode Quest, I found myself suddenly working on it again, just like that. In fact, I started working on it a lot, and soon it was in a state that could be called 'game'. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and here we are. Wowy wow wow. I like this game. It's playable. I think I'm getting better at this. Hope you like it too. Shawno THIS GUI IS DIFFERENT AND SCARY Yes. It is. Allow me to explain. On the lower right region of the screen is your Inventory Box. All the stuff Rode is carrying is in there, and you can cycle through it using the arrows. If you decide to use an inventory item on something, you choose it from the box with the 'U' (or Use) cursor. The name of that item will appear in the lower left part of the interface. That item is now the Active item. Every time you click on something with the 'INV' cursor, you are using the Active item. It may or may not be the same item that is shown in the Inventory Box. The main buttons on the interface are fairly self-explanatory so I'll skip them. S - Save game (F5) L - Load game (F7) Q - Quit game (CTRL-Q) THE PUKE-O-METER What is it doing? It's measuring puke. The longer you take, the more puke get's measured. You work it out. V1.0 27/02/03 - Initial release V1.01 01/03/03 - Fixed bunch of little bugs Known Issues - The doors can act wonky sometimes. It be gremlins. - Ending credits act oddly in windowed mode (this is a plugin related thingy) - Music volume can be too low on some sound cards (this is an AGS related thingy) If you have any comments or questions, feel free to email me at shawno@rodekill.com or visit the message boards at www.rodekill.com This game is freeware. You can distribute this game in any way, but the contents of the zip file must not be altered. All this crap is (c)2003 Shawn Guzzo
