SOKOBAN 3D - A SIMPLE GAME BY LOGOS CO. A 3D version of a famous game SOKOBAN aka DIG DOCKER, PUSHER etc. This version is absolutely FREEWARE You are granted permission and highly encouraged to give away copies of this game provided you do not modify the distribution package This game is distributed AS IS, no warranty of any kind is provided nor any responsibility is assumed for any potential damage that may arise during usage of this program including HDD formatting, CPU blowing up and/or computer explosion :-) Minimum requirements: 486DX/66 4MB RAM, Windows 95/NT IMPORTANT NOTICE. Since chances are low that you read any further :-) please notice that you have to HOLD SPACE BAR to move boxes (see the Game Controls section of this file). 1. Game Rules ------------- To complete the level you must push each of the boxes into the storage area. The storage area is marked by different color of the floor. You cannot push more than one box at a time. You cannot pull boxes, you can only push. 2. Game startup --------------- Files: SOKO3D.EXE - executable file SOKO3D.IMG - Graphics data for Sokoban 3D SOKO3D.DAT - default levels for Sokoban 3D SOKO3D.TXT - this file Command line format: SOKO3D - start Sokoban 3D with default levels (SOKO3D.DAT) SOKO3D file.dat - start Sokoban 3D with custom levels 3. Game controls ---------------- F7 - windowed mode F8 - fullscreen mode (may not work if card refuses to initialize 320x200) Play mode: FORWARD - move forward (use together with SPACE to push boxes) BACK - move back LEFT - turn left RIGHT - turn right SPACE - push mode when moving forward ALT - strafe mode PGUP - look down PGDN - look up HOME or END - center view TAB - enter map mode F1 - restart level F2 - previous level F3 - next level F4 - go to level (you are asked to enter the level number) BACKSPACE - undo last box move ESC - quit game Map mode: +(white) - increase detail -(white) - reduce detail TAB or ESC - back to play mode 4. Level format --------------- You are given the possibility to design your own levels. The .dat file is a usual text file that can be edited with any plain text editor. The format of the .dat file should be obvious from looking at any example .dat file. Nevertheless a few notes: 3.1. The level dimensions are currently limited to 200x200 (could you dare to design such a huge level?) 3.2. Level numbering must be (001) to maximum (999). The number of each level must equal the number of the previous level plus 1. 3.3. Do not use optional spaces and empty lines in .dat file. In fact there is no such option. 3.4. Map legend: - empty cell, # - wall, $ - box, . - target cell, * - box on target cell, @ - player ini pos. 5. Known bugs ------------- 1. In fullscreen mode palette sometimes not correctly restored when switching back to Soko3D from some other app. The workaround for this problem is to switch to Windowed mode then back to fullscreen. 6. Acknowledgements ------------------- .dat file format is .lev file format of WinSoko by Phade Software (much compatible with many other versions of Sokoban) soko3d.dat contains levels from WinSoko ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | Welcome to visit our WWW page at http://logos.cyber.mephi.ru | | | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Send your suggestions to zav@logos.cyber.mephi.ru HAVE FUN!
