We suggest you set your fonts to "Small" to see the entire launcher. To do so: * Right-click on your desktop * Click on "Properties" * Click on the "Settings" tab * Click on the box under "Font size" near the bottom * Click on "Small Fonts" * Click on the "OK" button at the bottom of the window Desktop Color Palette --------------------- We recommend that you set your desktop to High Color (16 bit) color. When playing Battle for Naboo with your desktop set to a color palette other than 16-bit, you may experience various problems while running the game. Task Switching -------------- We recommend that you do not task switch while playing Battle for Naboo. At the time of release, we have seen problems while task switching on various video cards that can cause the game to lock up or quit unexpectedly. CTRL-ESC -------- We recommend that you do not use CTRL-ESC while playing Battle for Naboo. Installing Battle for Naboo --------------------------- Insert the Battle for Naboo CD into your CD-ROM drive. The Launcher screen will open automatically unless Autoplay is disabled. If it does not, double-click on the My Computer icon, then the CD-ROM icon. This should bring up the launcher menu. If it does not, double-click on BattleForNaboo.exe in the window that opens. Click on the top button from the following options and the installer will guide you through the installation process. There are two Installation Options available. Both install options require 150MB of free hard drive space. Manual installation will prompt you for an installation location, asks which shortcuts to add to the Start Menu and your desktop, allows you to view the readme, and prompts you to install DirectX 8.0a if it is not already installed on your system. Automatic installs to the default directory, C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Battle for Naboo, does not put a shortcut on your desktop and may install DirectX 8.0a during installation if it is not already installed on your system. Running Battle for Naboo ------------------------ To run the game, click on your Start Menu, select Programs, then LucasArts, then Battle for Naboo and click on Play Battle for Naboo. This will bring up the Launcher screen. Click on Start Game on the launcher and it will begin the game. Although it is possible to run the executable directly off of the CD, we recommend that you use the shortcuts the installer creates in the Start Menu or the shortcut to Battle for Naboo which is created on the desktop during manual installation. Running the executable directly from the CD may cause the game to run more slowly while it accesses the CD much more often. Keyboard Commands ----------------- Please check the Battle for Naboo manual for a detailed list of the keyboard controls on the game. Mouse Support ------------- Battle for Naboo supports up to three mouse buttons in the game. The wheel on your mouse is not supported in Battle for Naboo. Joystick and Gamepad Support ---------------------------- You can assign game button functions to each of the 4 directions on the HAT control of a typical flight stick style joystick. If you are using one of these joysticks, it is recommended that you map functions to the hat accordingly so that you can make full use of the features on your joystick and minimize the needs to use the keyboard during play. ############################################################## (c) 2001 LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC.
