When installing FOTR, please take a moment to register your product.
This will allow us to send important updates to you. To register after
installing FOTR, please use the Register Fellowship icon in your Start menu.

It is strongly recommended that you download and use the latest video, 
audio and DirectX drivers. See your card manufacturers help information
for the location of the most recent drivers.

If you are having problems playing the game, first check your driver
versions and update as necessary. See your audio and video card
manufacturer's website for the most recent driver version.

2. Page 2 - Installation Instructions
FOTR PC requires DirectX 8.1b installed, not just DirectX 8.1.

3. Page 2 - Default Controls
Sneak - Left Alt
Use - Enter
Frodo: Jump - Space Bar
Aragorn: Kick - Space Bar

Clarification: You cannot jump or attack with your melee weapon when
in first person mode. This is a targeting mode for your ranged weapons.

4. Page 5 - Gandalf - Spirit Bar
The Magic section is on page 12.

4. Page 6 - Movement Clarifications
Use the mouse to turn left and right. Use the WADS keys to run and strafe.
You can only shimmy if you are hanging from a ledge.

5. Page 15 - Pause Menu
Press the ESCAPE key to pause the game.

6. Page 20 - Technical Support

7. Load Game section
Use the W and S keys to scroll up and down in your saved game list.

8. Quest and Map section
Press Q to see the Quest & Map screen.

Known Issues
============

1. Windows XP users need SP1 installed for DirectX 8.1b.

2. ATI video card users
If you are using an ATI video card, you must update your video drivers
to the most recently released versions. Older versions of the drivers
are incompatible with FOTR PC and will not work.

If your video card is built by ATI:

3. If your sound during dialog plays very fast or with two voices at once, 
make sure 3D sound buffers are disabled from the configuration screen.

4. If you are running Windows Me, you might have to install DirectX 8.1b
manually. Run dxsetup.exe in the DIRECTX81 folder on the install CD.
