Thank you for purchasing Hi-Tech Hijinks, KnowWonder's first 
title in The Totally Techie World of Young Dilbert series.  
Hi-Tech Hijinks takes you on a series of adventures along 
with Young Dilbert and his friends. Players must complete 
the games found in each adventure before they "win" that 
adventure. Completing all four adventures allows the player 
to win the game.  Players may replay games by re-entering 
the adventures, or by going into the Player's Arcade.

Windows (r) 486DX/66 minimum (Pentium 90 or faster 
recommended), 16 MB RAM, 2X CD-ROM Drive (4X 
recommended), 38 MB Hard Disk space, 
256 color SVGA (640 x 480), Windows 3.11 (Windows 95 
recommended), SoundBlaster compatible sound card. 

Macintosh (r)  - Macintosh 68040 minimum (80 MHz PPC 
recommended), 16 MB RAM, 2X CD-ROM Drive (4X 
recommended), 38 MB Hard Disk Space, 256 color (640 x 480), 
System 7.0 or higher.

No internet access required.

Installation
*****************************************

Before installing this software, we recommend that you close 
all other applications and turn off your screen saver and 
file sharing.  In addition, if you are running any 
virus-checking programs, you will need to disable them 
during installation.  

The CD-ROM contains most of the files needed for Hi-Tech 
Hijinks.  The installer will, however,  copy some files and 
libraries to your hard disk. You will need to insert the 
Hi-Tech Hijinks CD into your CD-ROM drive each time you 
want to play.

Windows or Windows for Workgroups 3.11 Installation -  
Insert the CD-ROM into your drive.  
Select the Run... command from the File menu in the 
Windows Program Manager.  Type the following into 
the command line: D:\INSTALL.EXE (Replace "D" with 
your CD-ROM drive letter).  Your computer may need 
to restart following installation.

Note: Hi-Tech Hijinks requires Windows 3.11 
(in enhanced mode) or greater to run.  
It will not run under Windows 3.0 or Windows 3.1.
 
Windows 95 Installation - The first time you insert 
the CD-ROM, Windows 95's AutoPlay feature will run 
the installation program.  Insert the CD-ROM and 
follow the on-screen prompts.   The next time you 
load the CD-ROM, the program should run 
automatically, or you can launch it from the 
Windows 95 start menu.

Macintosh Installation  -  Insert the CD into your 
CD-ROM drive.  Click on the Install Hi-Tech Hijinks 
icon and follow the on-screen prompts.  Your computer 
may need to restart following installation.  

Note: Hi-Tech Hijinks requires System 7.0 or greater to run.

Additional features and notes

Hitting the "Esc"key will terminate most dialogue, end most 
animation and allow you to immediately continue game play.

Performance Enhancements
*****************************************

On some older computers, the performance of sound- and 
graphics-intensive games may be sluggish.  If you 
experience performance problems within Windows with 
Hi-Tech Hijinks, type Alt+M.  This will temporarily 
suppress the background music and should greatly increase 
performance. Typing Alt+M again will restore the sound.  
This toggle may also be used if you prefer to run the 
software without background music.  On the Macintosh, 
the key combination for suppressing music is Command+M.

To improve performance on the Macintosh, you may want 
to increase the size of the disk cache in the Memory 
Control Panel.  Increasing the memory allocated to the 
Hi-Tech Hijinks application can also increase performance. 

On Windows 3.11 machines, the best way to increase 
performance is by upgrading to Windows 95.  In our 
tests, we found that virtually all multimedia 
applications perform better under Windows 95  
than under Windows 3.11 running on the same machine.
