Guitar Hero World Tour (initially referred to as Guitar Hero IV or Guitar Hero IV: World Tour) is a music rhythm game developed by Neversoft, published by Activision and distributed by RedOctane. It is the fourth main entry in the Guitar Hero series, the sixth on home consoles and the seventh overall. The game was launched in North America in October 2008 for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 consoles, and a month later for Europe and Australia. A version of World Tour for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh was later released.

    So game doesn’t crash anymore. but it wont register my controller as a guitar controller. is it because I’m using a rift master?

    Hello friends, IF YOUR GAME IS CRASHING AFTER LOGIN MENU…Here’s a method that will hwlp
    1. Press Win+R( The run program will show up)
    2. Type Regedit
    3. In the list click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    4. In the drop down menu click SOFTWARE folder
    5. Within software click WOW6432Node folder
    6. Click Aspyr, then click Guitar hero world tour folder
    7. Within that folder you have to change the Path registry. So double click Path(It will show up on your right along with (default) and Language.
    8. Change it to the location on your local disk drive that the game is installed to. Ex:C:\Program Files (x86)\Aspyr\Guitar Hero World Tour.
    (You can use mine as an example and drive whats neccessary if yours is a bit different.

    The game should load perfectly now. The issue is that the game is crashing due to having an empty path in the registry.

    ive managed to get past the press any button to rock screen but when i play a song or create a band it crashes. any fixes for this?

    It crashes every time it says “click any button to rock”. I downloaded GH3 from here and that works just fine, so I’m lost…

    Does not run on Windows 11, even after regedit path edit. 2 errors:
    Code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_39.dll was not found
    Code execution cannot proceed because XINPUT1.dll was not found

    You can try downloading x360ce and converting the guitar inputs into an xbox 360 controller inputs. Or you simply need to downloading the guitar driver, like with steering whells

    hi, ty for you work! i installed the game and solved the problem with the path but the game doesn’t recognize my guitar and still asking for it. how can i fix this?
