Game Description
Half-Life is a first-person shooter developed by Valve Corporation and released by Sierra on November 19, 1998 for Microsoft Windows. Half-Life follows the adventures of Gordon Freeman, a researcher at the Black Mesa Research Facility, a gigantic, top-secret scientific complex housed in a disused military base totally buried beneath the surface. While participating in an experiment on a mysterious sample, Freeman involuntarily opens an interdimensional gap to a parallel world, Xen, populated by alien creatures. Aliens of various species and races burst across the center and savagely attack his staff. The test room is partially destroyed but Freeman, equipped with a “Hazard Suit” (HEV), manages to escape unscathed. The center of Black Mesa is littered with corpses and the invading creatures chase the survivors. Gordon, supported by colleagues and security guards at the center, faces them in the hopes of surviving and being able to return to the surface for help. During these events, Gordon will discover that the US government is trying to stifle the case by sending a commando unit to kill the survivors.

So to elaborate on my problem.. I try to open HL but it closes up and I just discovered why. it’s because OpenGL mode is not supported. But I should have gotten a message like this :https://gyazo.com/74fb4e2de118913cc2bb0a7f6f5f131a . but that messages doesn’t show up and the game just closes it’s self. now I need a way to change the video settings from the games files. canyone help?
So I downloaded the game and the file was fine. When I try to boot up the application it doesn’t show at all tho?? how do I fix this?

sorry to be late but the game uses a different tool than the menu to show itself, if you go to configuration~video~video modes~then choose the last option, the game should work fine, hope this helps =D

when i sart new game it give unable to load authentication library Eexiting….
i try to start a new game and nothing happens. i try again and a loading pop up comes then the games instantly exits
If I get a battery armor or long jump etc, I get an error saying: CL_Sound error something and closes the game. I am on HD Pack.
It keeps saying “Can’t load authentication library, exiting..”

I have download and updated the master server so it contains live servers list now.
I think that would help people to get better user-experience and allow them to play online with each other!
However, i have made this Half-Life Download page so you can download it. I also removed all the extra mods to make it purely compressed with 166Mb setup file!

Sometimes I get stuck in the levels an then I can no longer move.
If I then quit the game, I don’t have acces to my score datas, in which I’m not stuck. Then I have to reinstall the game, to be able to use all my score datas.

Hey! My game keeping crashing white screen and i need to left form the game thats do form install. How to fix?
game works just fine. I have downloaded in on Pendrive and it works on my computer just fine. The problem is when I go to school and put Pendrive into other PC i need to type in Steam CD Key.
I get this problem on any other computer other than the one i downloaded it from. Any solve to this problem? I tried looking for some files that maybe saved my computer’s IP adress or something like that. I am afraid there are some external files in %appdata% or something like that.
