Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is an action-adventure video game published by Electronic Arts based on J.K. Rowling’s novel Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and the film of the same name. It was the last Harry Potter to be game released for the Game Boy Color and also the last Harry Potter game to be released on the PlayStation.

How to play on Windows – Method 1

  1. Download the file called Harry_Potter_and_the_Chamber_of_Secrets_Win_Files_EN.7z and extract the folder inside
  2. Open the extracted folder. Go to “Game Files” and launch “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.exe”
  3. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets should now launch

How to play on Windows – Method 2

  1. Download the file called Harry_Potter_and_the_Chamber_of_Secrets_Win_Setup_EN.7z (870.5MB) and extract the folder inside
  2. Double click on Autorun.exe to launch the game setup. When asked for a serial key, use
    1500 8368512 6523563 7055
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions and finish installing the game
  4. Open the folder called “crack” and copy the “game.exe” file. Go into the installation directory and paste “game.exe” – it should ask you to replace the files which already exist. Select yes.
  5. Double click on “game.exe” and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets should launch.

    Hey everyone! So I was able to make the game launch and everything, but there are some glitches, like Harry’s cape is all over the place, as well as other objects in the world, but the background texture and everything else are fine
    I can’t seem to find a solution even when I change the Harry Potter file ini.

    Hi! The second installation process for Windows 10 isn’t working for me. I followed all the instructions and copied the Game.exe file from crack folder into system folder on HP2 directory in my program files, but when I click it it says “Critical Error: General Protection Fault! History: applnit”
    I’ve no idea how to go about this.

    When I download the file, it can’t open it. It says that the file does not have an app associated with it to perform the action and it says to install an app. Please help!

    Thanks for all that you did to make this website, though. I love it! I have already installed one long lost games that I have wanted to play again for many years now and another that I never played before. You have a great collection! 🙂

      I had the same problem! you need to download an app like 7-zip to extract the .7z file.
      After that just follow the steps in method 2 listed above and it works perfectly!

          Hi all,

          After some messing about I have found a solution to this problem as I was having exactly the same issue,

          Once you have completed the installation using the second link on this page your game will have installed and there will be two folders,

          One in your documents folder under EA games, unless you changed it in the install, and one in Localdisk>Program Files (x86)> EA Games > Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

          It is in this second folder you’ll find a folder called system, it is in this folder where the original game.exe that you’ll need to replace with the new one from the crack folder mentioned in the original tutorial,

          After that has been replaced you should be able to run the game using game.exe, I have played for an hour so far with no issues at all

          Just want to say to you Bootstraps that it was amazing to see you so ontop of the replies on this thread. I’m just a passerby that wanted to download the game after playing it as a kid and rewatching the movies this week and noticed your comments. I gave this a download and followed your tips and now have the game running. Thanks so much!

          I can get to Program Files (x86) but there’s no EA games folder for me to copy the crack game file into. Any idea where I went wrong? I’m trying to use my work’s PC since my own computer is a Mac running Catalina (and Wine isn’t compatible with Catalina yet)

    The game seems to work just fine, but holy crap my frame rate keeps tanking. I’m playing everything standard, just download and go, does anyone have tips on improving performance?

    I played the game for a day, then it suddenly crashed- it opens and closes after about 10 seconds of gameplay. Downloading the windows 10 fix file does not do much, as I cannot find the folder I should put (and extract?) it in.
    The pop up says ‘can’t find file package IpDrv’. Any help would be appreciated.

    My childhood! This is the game I played till the disc melted and stopped working. To those experiencing the texture problems, you have to type up Chamber of Secrets Windows 10 and click on the first link (fdossena) and it will make the game runnable without texture problems.

    This was a staple of my childhood. Dueling was just the funnest mini game ever. I lost HOURS just refighting students over and over and building up beans.

    For Potter fans, Snape is super snarky, like he has some of the funniest lines in the game. Where was this Snape in the movies and books.

    This alongside Sorcerer’s Stone were the ultimate in childhood gaming.

        On Windows 10, this game will have weird borders. Harry will have weird looking glasses texture problems (it’s the only word I can think of to describe it) and other border problems.

        This is easily fixable. By googling Chamber of Secrets Windows 10 will have results. Go to https://fdossena.com/?p=hp2/i.frag and downloading the patch after scrolling down. Putting the fix will have the game mostly normal. Weirdly enough, the last time I played the game I would see these flickering black textures while on the Hogwarts ground or randomly other places. Later in the game a block would be unmovable even with Flippendo and I had to resort to platforming on some bookcases to move on to a secret.

        Now, when I downloaded this and after performing a wipe on my computer (long story) it seems to have sorted itself out so fine I guess on that front.

        If this wasn’t what you meant, I apologize for the extremely long winded needless information. I am prone to exposition and explanations that are long winded.

    Was very fun to play, and ran without fail. I completed the game to 100% and streamed it a bit on my Twitch channel (under same name as my user). This game was way more forgiving then the first. I couldn’t even get passed the first part in the first game, so I gave up. Lol.

    But overall, no problems as long as you follow the instructions, the game should work fine with no problems.

    There is a minor issue I noticed in the game; Harry’s glasses and some trees would have a gray box around them. It happens if you do not use the correct comp ability settings, and do not place the game as ‘run as administrator’. If you decide to give the game a try, try your best not to press your home button on your keyboard (If you have it) it’ll either crash your game, or it’ll glitch and return to this slight graphical issues. If you happen to press your home key accidentally, you might be able to recover your screen if you react quickly to return to your game. But usually ends up breaking your game.

    Hello! I was wondering if I could get the .dll file. I ‘ve gone through the troubleshooting that’s on the website, but I can’t seem to locate the file in my antivirus software and I’ve also tried redownloading the game via both methods without my antivirus software running.

      If you’re still interested in playing the game I should have the solution for you

      The file that you are looking to replace is in Localdisk>Program Files (x86)> EA Games > Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets>system

      Once in this folder you can copy the game.exe from the crack folder and run it from there and the game should work fine

      Hi Leena,

      If you are still interested in playing this game, which I recommend since most of us are in lockdown currently and now is a great oppurtunity to play

      The installation directory is in Localdisk>Program Files (x86)> EA Games > Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets>system

      This is where you need to replace the game.exe file from the crack folder, once replaced run the exe and the game should run for you

        I came to this site after trying to get my old disk to work, and I’m having the same problem with your downloads as I am with my old disk. When I click on the icon to run the game, I get a “Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?” prompt. When I say “yes”, it doesn’t do anything. Is something about my computer security preventing it from running?

    It says that it cant find package ‘Engine’ as its Critical Error when I try launching by using the download with the “games Files” version to launch it than the install version Setup
