Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (sometimes known as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in the United States) is an action-adventure video game with platform elements published by Electronic Arts. It is based on J.K Rowling’s novel of the same name and the film adaptation. Philosopher’s Stone was initially developed for the Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Color, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation in November 2001, and was re-made two years later for the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox in December 2003.

How to play on Windows – Method 1
- Download and extract Harry_Potter_and_the_Philosophers_Stone_Win_Files_En.7z
- Open the “Game Files” folder and double click on “HPlauncher.exe” and the game should launch
- If you get any errors, right click the launcher, go to “Properties>Compatibility” and select “Windows XP (service pack 2)”. Also select “Run as administrator”. Click on “Apply” and then “Ok”. Then try launching the game.
How to play on Windows – Method 2
- Download and extract Harry_Potter_and_the_Philosophers_Stone_Win_ISO_En.7z and mount the .iso file
- Run the game setup by running “Autorun.exe” as an administrator (right click>run as administrator) and insert the following game key:
1504-1879151-5021411-5309 - Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the game setup.
- Once Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone has finished installed, you can launch the game using the desktop shortcut.
- If you get any errors, then download the Windows 10 fix file and drag the contents into your game’s installation directory. By default, this will be C://Program Files x86/EA Games/Harry Potter TM. Confirm you want to replace the files in the destination. Then right click the desktop shortcut for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, go to “Properties>Compatibility” and select “Windows XP (service pack 2)”. Also select “Run as administrator”. Click on “Apply” and then “Ok”

Hello! I had method 2 work splendidly on my last computer, but i just built a new pc and when i go to launch the game it tries to use 3D rendering and wont let me not use that….idk how to fix, any ideas?

If you’re having issues with the 3d rendering, you should try using dgVoodoo2 to fix it. I own a physical copy of this game, and have been using that as a solution to keep the graphics wrapping properly for Windows 7/8/10. Copy the dll files from the MS folder of dgVoodoo into the system folder for Harry Potter. If you’re interested in more updated graphics, someone has created a DirectX11 renderer that specifically works for Harry Potter 1 & 2, which has updated lighting/shadowing/reflective effects.
Where could I find the DirectX11 update? Thanks

Hello, I’ve tried method 1 and failed but method 2 has seen me come closest. I’ve done everything on the instructions, then had issues so I’ve downloaded the windows fix file and followed the instructions, but afterwards when i click on the shortcut it asks me if I want to make changes to my device – I say yes then nothing happens. I tried clicking on the autorun and I get the HP start up, I press play, then the same thing happens again. Any ideas?

The resolution is wrong when I load the game, I can only see one corner of the screen. Please can you advise on how to fix this?
Before the lumos challenge, I am not able to get 50% while tracing the spell. This happened first in the Flipendo challenge, but I solved the error by running in comparability mode (Windows Me). Does anyone have a fix for this problem in the Lumos challenge?

HOW THE HECK DO I ADD THE WINDOWS FIX FILE? I CANT FIGURE IT OUT AT ALL
When I download the game, I opened it with my 7-Zip file opener app. After I extracted it all I click the HPlauncher.exe.lnk file and it says that the thing that the shortcut refers to was not found. How do I fix that?
(I use method 2) when I do everything and click on the game icon it doesn’t do anything. PLEASE HELP!!!

cant play the PS2 game
Snag the Dolphin Emulator, and go to a site that has the Gamecube version. They’re identical, and Dolphin is a much more stable emulator than the ones for PS2.
That, and PS2 emulators are much more demanding on a PC than one would think.

Look where it says “Additional Files” up above, and Windows 10 Fix should be at the top of that list. Download it, extract it, read the instructions on what to do with them…though it should just be a matter of copying and pasting what’s inside to your game folder.
