GOLF RESORT TYCOON 2 MANUAL
Autorun:
1. Turn the computer on and start Windows 95/98/ME/XP/2000. Close any other programs
that you are running.
2. Place the Golf Resort Tycoon 2 CD in the CD-ROM drive and wait a few seconds for the
install screen to appear.
3. Follow the on screen instructions when they appear.
Note: If the autorun feature is disabled or does not work properly, please follow one of
the manual methods below.
Manual Installation:
1. Turn the computer on and start Windows 95/98/XP/ME/2000. Close any other programs
that you are running.
2. Place the Golf Resort Tycoon 2 CD in the CD-ROM drive.
3. Click on [Start] and then click on [Run].
4. Type the letter of your CD-ROM drive (usually “D”) followed by a (:) and the word
Launch. Then Click the [OK] button. (Example D:Launch)
The install screen will appear. Follow the on- screen instructions to begin the installation.
Getting Started after Installation:
1. Place the Golf Resort Tycoon 2 CD in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Click on [Start], then select [Programs].
Select [Activision Value/ Golf Resort Tycoon 2/ Play Golf Resort Tycoon 2] to start the
game.
Golf Tycoon 2 Overview
You have been hired to build and manage a new golf course in town. The goal is to develop a
course that is beautiful, economical, and profitable. As the course designer you will oversee all
construction projects, and have the ability to adjust costs and organize events that will attract
more golfers. Your job will be to make guests happy and keep your resort in good working order
while maximizing profits. The rating of your course will be dependent upon the difficulty of the
course you design and quality of the facilities that you provide. Make sure that there are plenty
of food and shelter locations for patrons visiting your resort.
Main Menu
Once you have started the game and seen the opening movies, you will find yourself at the main
menu. By clicking on Settings you will be able to adjust the game resolution, frame rate, render
type, and sounds. If you click on the Challenges button this will take you to another menu screen
that describes different challenges you must overcome to have a successful resort. The Load
Game feature will allow you to resume any previously saved games. Instant Action will allow
you to practice your techniques on any of the terrains.
Instant Action
In this mode there are no objectives and no set time limit. You are allowed to “Free Play” for as
long as you would like, or until you run out of money. When first starting out, the Instant Action
feature is very useful for becoming familiar with the objects in the game.
In Game Controls / Interface:
1. Rotate the map to the left
2. Rotate the map to the right
3. Zoom in on the map (smaller viewable area)
4. Zoom out on the map (larger viewable area)
5. Turn Grid on (useful while editing the terrain)
6. Choose support buildings / Grounds keepers
7. Choose amenities for the Golfers
8. Terrain Editor

New Game
When starting a new course, you will be presented with challenges that must be overcome in
order to develop a popular resort. Before each challenge begins, a character will appear on the
screen who will give you a description of your goals and how long you have to complete them.
As you progress through the challenges they will become increasingly difficult.
Save / Load Game
If for some reason you must quit the game before accomplishing all the goals, make sure to click
the disk icon in the upper left hand corner to save your game. Next time you start your game you
can choose the load option and select the game that you saved earlier.
First Person Golfing Instructions
1. In order to get play your course, you may use two separate methods:
1. Play one hole at a time by right-clicking on the tee-box and choosing the lower right
hand corner icon to play the hole.
2. By choosing “Golf A Course” from the main menu.
3. In the first method you will be brought directly to a screen that looks similar to the
one pictured below. If you choose “Golf A Course” you will then need to select a
character (or create your own) and select a course. Each one of the courses in the
game is 18 holes long (unless you choose one of your own courses that is shorter).
Listed below are the controls that will be used while golfing:
1. Rotate the shot aim to the right
2. Rotate the shot aim to the left
3. Move the camera angle to a higher elevation
4. Lower the camera angle
5. Zoom in the Camera
6. Zoom out the camera
7. Select a wood to use
8. Select an iron to use
9. Select a wedge to use
A. Select your putter
B. View Scorecard
C. Abort / Save game
Z. Swing Meter

Left click once to start your swing
ii. Left click a second time on the swing meter to determine the power of your
swing (the higher it goes the more power it will have.)
iii. Once you have determined the power of your swing, a green bar will appear at
the bottom of the meter.

Left click in this green area in order to begin the swing.

If you click either to the right or left of the green bar, the ball will either hook
or slice.

Hints / Tips
1. Right click on your maintenance crew and / or pest control to assign them specific holes
to work on.
2. Keep things interesting! Right click on the tee box of the hole to bring up the menu for
that particular hole. Once you have brought up the menu you may select the lawnmower
tab at the right and choose a different pattern for each hole.
