Bandai® Power Rangers™ Datazord
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements
• PC with Pentium®-class processor or equivalent
• Microsoft® Windows® 95, 98 or NT*
• 16MB physical memory
• SVGA video card
• Sound Blaster® or compatible sound card
• 20MB available hard disk space
• Monitor capable of displaying 256 colors at 640x480 pixels
• CD-ROM drive
* Due to its CPU-intensive background operations, Windows NT Server is not recommended for
running this or other multimedia programs.
Recommended for improved performance
• Pentium® 166 MHz or faster processor
• 48 MB physical memory
• 8X or faster CD-ROM drive
• Accelerated graphics card
• High-quality headphones or external loudspeakers
STARTING THE PROGRAM
Bandai® Power Rangers™ Datazord does not require an initial installation process. To start the
program:
1. Start your computer.
2. Make sure you have an appropriate system configuration (see above). For best results, exit
any other open applications and turn off or disable any unnecessary system extensions or
network operations.
3. For optimal performance, switch your computer's color depth to 256 colors:
- Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- In the Control Panels window, double-click the Display icon.
- In the Display Control Panel, click the Settings tab and choose 256 Colors in the Color Palette
drop-down menu.
Note: if your computer uses a non-standard video card, there may be a custom control panel or
application allowing you to switch your monitor's color depth. Please refer to the instructions
provided with your video card.
4. If necessary, adjust the computer's sound volume to an appropriate level:
- Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- In the Control Panels window, double-click the Multimedia icon.
- In the Multimedia Control Panel, drag the volume slider to the appropriate level.
Note: if you are using your computer's default Taskbar settings, you can also adjust the volume
by right-clicking the speaker icon in the Taskbar.
5. Insert the CD into the computer's CD tray.
6. The program will automatically start if the Autorun option is enabled on your computer. If
Autorun is disabled, simply double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop, double-click
the CD drive icon, then double-click the Datazord icon to start the program.
GAME CONTROLS
Keyboard map
To display a map of the keys assigned to the various Datazord components, click the green Info
button at the bottom of the screen. To return to the Datazord, click anywhere on the screen or
press any key.
You can also display the keyboard map by pressing Control-I.
Volume Control
The program offers four volume settings: low, medium, high and mute. To cycle through these
settings, click the green Speaker button at the bottom of the screen.
You can also adjust the volume by pressing Control-V.
Datazord Shutdown
To quit the program, click the Datazord Shutdown button (green cross) at the bottom of the
screen. You will be asked to confirm this action.
You can also quit the program by pressing Control-Q or the Escape key.
DATAZORD AVAILABILITY
Each Power Rangers™ action figure ships with its own, custom Datazord CD. However, as you
purchase additional action figures and run their Datazord CDs, the program will enable the
corresponding Datazords and allow you to access them from any of the CDs you received.
In addition, if you have purchased three or more action figures, the program will automatically
enable the MegaDatazord.
GAMEPLAY
Each Datazord features a wide variety of animated components which can be triggered by
clicking on the screen or using the keyboard (see 'Keyboard Map' above). Most components
have several states, so be sure to click on each component several times!
Sometimes a component cannot be triggered while it is completing its current animation, or if too
many other components are already running. If this happens, simply wait a few moments for
some of the components to return to their resting state.
If a component can be triggered, the bold cross-shaped cursor will become larger when you
move the mouse over it.
Each Datazord also provides several alternate sets of components that can be displayed by
clicking the circular red button at the bottom right corner of certain panels. To return to the
original panel, click the red button again.
If you have purchased several action figures and started their Datazord CDs, you will be able to
switch between several Datazord screens. To switch to a different Datazord, click the
corresponding colored button in the bottom left region of the screen.
