Game Description

Metal Gear is an overhead military action-adventure stealth video game originally released in 1987 by Konami for the MSX2 computer in Japan and parts of Europe. Considered to be the progenitor of the stealth game genre, it was the first video game designed by Hideo Kojima, who would go on to direct most of its sequels.

How to play on Windows

  1. Download the DOS emulator, DOSBox, and put a shortcut for DOSBox onto your desktop.
  2. Download the “Metal_Gear_DOS_EN.7z” file from the link above.
  3. Open the downloaded .zip file and extract the “Metal_Gear_DOS_EN” folder to your desktop. You will need to use a software such as WinRAR to do this.
  4. Open the extracted “Metal_Gear_DOS_EN” folder and then open the “Game Files” folder.
  5. Drag the file called “PLAY.EXE” on top of the DOSBox icon and the game should now launch in DOSBox.
  6. Enjoy!
