II. GENERAL TECHNICAL ISSUES
==============================
Speed and Color Issues
-----------------------
Thrillride can run using either 256, or 65000 colors. The
65000 color display looks great, but is far more than the
minimum machine can handle. The first time you run Thrillride,
it will try to pick the best setting for your machine. You
may want to change this setting to suit your preferences.
If you have a speedy computer, make sure to try selecting 65000-color
Graphics from the Advanced Preferences Menu. You can get to the
Advanced Preferences Menu by choosing Preferences from the Main
Menu, then clicking on the Advanced button.
If you have speed problems, you can reset the graphics and sound
to their lower settings to improve game speed.
Also lowering the Detail Level in the Preferences Menu should make
the game run faster.
Some video cards have trouble with 65000-color graphics. You can get
around these problems by either resetting the graphics to 256-color,
in the Advanced Preferences Menu, or try installing an updated
driver for your video card. Updated drivers can generally be
found at your video card manufacturer's web site.
In particular, we have had noted trouble with the Beta Voodoo3 drivers.
We recommend using the Voodoo3 retail WHQL certified drivers.
Startup Issue
--------------
If your game will not startup correctly, or has graphic problems
when starting up, you may have a setting selected that does not
work well with your Graphics drivers. Try holding the SHIFT key
down while starting the game to reset these settings. This will
force 256-color graphics and 8-bit sound to be selected.
Full-Screen Issue
------------------
Some video cards have color problems when you choose Full Screen
from the game's Preferences screen. If you ever get a black screen
after choosing the Full Screen option, hold the ALT button and
press the F4 key.
Then simply re-run 3D Ultra Pinball Thrillride. The game
should run in a full screen now without any problems.
You will not be able to turn off 'Full Screen' mode and run in a
Window, unless you have a high-resolution desktop (greater than
800x600) with enough colors.
Minimizing Issue
-----------------
Some systems, particularly Windows 2000, have color glitches
after Minimizing a Full-screen 256-color Thrillride game.
You can get around this by either running in changing your games
Preference settings to Windowed mode, or 65000 color mode.
Sticky Keys
------------
If you use the Windows Accessibility 'sticky keys' feature, it may
cause your computer to display an alert message when you repeatedly
press the SHIFT key.
To fix this problem, you can change your Pinball controls so you
don't use the SHIFT key, or you can disable 'sticky keys'.
To find out how to change your game controls, check the manual
inside the CD Case. You can use a GamePad/Mouse to play, or
change the keyboard controls so the SHIFT key is not used.
To disable 'sticky keys':
1. Click the Start button on the Windows taskbar.
2. On the Settings menu, click Control Panel.
3. Double-click the Accessibility Options icon.
4. On the Keyboard tab, clear the 'Use StickyKeys' check box.
5. Click the 'Apply Now' button and 'OK' button.
Install Issue
--------------
3D Ultra Pinball Thrillride installs and uses the latest DirectX
drivers (version 7.0a) if you do not already have them. The
latest Indeo Interactive Video drivers are also installed and
required to view the videos.

III. GENERAL GAME ISSUES
==========================
Saved Games Do Not Count Towards a High Score
-----------------------------------------------
If you decide to save your game while playing 3D Ultra Pinball
Thrillride, your game will become exempt from any placement on
the High Scores board. This helps keep hackers who might edit
their saved games from appearing on the world-wide high score board.
See your game manual for notes about the world-wide high score board.
