1. INSTALLATION
System Requirements
Windows ‘95, Windows '98
Pentium 90 MHz or higher
256 color video and monitor
32 mb RAM, 85 MB free hard disk space
16-bit sound card with DirectX 5.0 or greater compatible
drivers (see (b.) under Special Notes on Installation
for more info)
Installation:
a.) Insert CD
b.) CD will auto-launch to the setup splash screen.
c.) Click on the "Install Dogz 3" or "Install Catz 3" button.
d.) Click through screens presented by the installer until you
have completed the installation process.
If you'd like to learn more about Petz 3 and the Petz product
line, click on the "Virtual Petz Tour" button on the Setup
splash screen.
IMPORTANT! Special Notes on Installation:
a.) To run the installer for Dogz 3 or Catz 3 you will need
110MB of hard disk space available on the drive where
you are installing (usually the C:\ drive). Once
installation is complete, Dogz 3 or Catz 3 only uses
85MB of hard disk space, or 100 MB if you own both.
b.) This application requires DirectX 5.0 or higher to run,
and will automatically install DirectX drivers. Petz 3
will only successfully run when installed on computers
with sound cards that are compatible with DirectX drivers.
c.) Problems With Sound Card (Drivers)
Petz 3 only supports sounds cards with drivers that are
compatible with DirectX. If you are experiencing
problems with sound or installation and have an early
version of an Aztech, ESS 1887 PnP Crystal CS4232
sound card, we recommend that you contact the sound
card manufacturer and download the latest drivers.
d.) Remember, if you install both Catz 3 and Dogz 3, your
Dogz and Catz can play together!
2. GETTING STARTED
There are three ways to open your Petz 3 program:
a.) Double-click on the Petz 3 shortcut on your desktop
b.) Select Petz 3 in PF.Magic in the Programs section of
your Start Menu
c.) Double-click on the Petz3.exe in your PF.Magic folder
in your Program files.
Petz 3 will open to the Adoption Center where you can
begin adopting puppyDogz or kittyCatz! You will start
out with 10 breedz. To select a breed, click on
Pick a Pet to the left of the Adoption Center doors.
When you have found the Petz you would like to adopt,
press "Adopt Now." Fill out your Adoption Certificate
and you're ready to go! Your Petz will start out in the
Family Room but you can take them to any of the fun-filled
Play Scenes by simply clicking the "Go To" button on your
Supply Case and selecting a destination.
