1.0 COPY PROTECTION
-------------------
In order to play Championship Surfer, the original game CD must
be in the CD-ROM drive.

1.1 DIRECT3D ISSUES
-------------------
Championship Surfer requires DirectX 7 or later to run. Please
make sure that you have installed DirectX 7 from your game CD
before running this game.

If you experience any problems with the game, such as crashes
when starting up or when setting the resolution, or incorrect
textures or abnormally slow performance, you may need to update
the drivers for your video card.

If you have more than one 3D accelerator in your PC, make sure
that you select the correct driver in the Configuration Utility.

1.2 DIRECTX DISCLAIMER AND LICENSE
----------------------------------
Championship Surfer utilizes Microsoft's DirectX sound and video
drivers. DirectX is a programming tool created by Microsoft, and
the installation of DirectX may cause video problems and system
anomalies with computers using video drivers that are not DirectX
compliant. DirectX is a Microsoft product, and as such, we cannot

system due to its installation. For DirectX related problems
that cannot be fixed by updating your video card's latest

1.3 TESTED VIDEO CARDS
----------------------
Championship Surfer is a fully 3D game, and therefore requires
a 3D accelerator to run.

Video cards that have been tested and verified as compatible
are as follows:

nVidia TNT, TNT2, TNT2 M64, TNT2 Ultra, Geforce 256,
Geforce 2 and GeForce 2 MX
3dfx Voodoo1, Voodoo2, Voodoo 3 3000/3500,
Voodoo 5/5500, Matrox G200/G400,
ATI Rage Pro, S3 Savage 3/4, Intel i740

1.4 SOUND ISSUES
----------------
There are no known sound issues with the game. If you experience
anomalies with audio, it will more than likely be a sound card
driver problem. Download the latest DirectX 7 drivers for your
card from your sound card manufacturer.

1.5 CONTROL ISSUES
------------------
Certain PC keyboards experience problems when attempting to
decipher combinations of three or more simultaneously pressed keys.
If this happens, try configuring a different keyboard layout
in Settings/Controls.

1.6 PERFORMANCE
---------------
The minimum specifications for running Championship Surfer are:

Windows 95/98/2000
DirectX 7.0 or greater
Pentium II 233Mhz or greater (PII 400Mhz recommended)
32 Mb of memory
450Mb Hard Disk space
Windows Media Player 6.4 or higher
4x CDROM or faster
3D Accelerated Video Card with 4Mb RAM (Voodoo 1 or better)
DirectX compatible Sound Card
Windows compatible Mouse
On these lower spec machines, performance will be degraded if
attempting to use settings that exceed your machine's capability.

1.7 Last Minute Details
-----------------------
You are able to start the game multiple times. This is not recommended because of the possibility of the game crashing because of low system resources.
When you start a multiplayer game you cannot use the mouse to select. Selection must be done with the keyboard or a controller.
While in game setting up the Championship Surfer controller you will notice that the game says you can program 8 buttons. You can only setup the 4 that are on the controller and the other buttons are there for controllers with more then 4 buttons.

Some tips for speeding things up if you are experiencing
boggy performance:
------------------------------------------------------------
Disable Mip Mapping
Disable Overlay Textures
Run the game in a lower resolution
Disable sound and music
Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your hardware
