In order to install the game, insert Chrome SpecForce CD 1 into the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive. The Game Installer will run automatically upon inserting the Chrome SpecForce CD 1 into the CD-ROM drive.
In case the Installer does not run automatically (this might happen if the 'autorun' option is disabled), please run setup.exe file from Chrome SpecForce CD 1. To do this, click on the Start button, then Run and type X:\setup.exe (X standing for the letter corresponding with the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive, usually it is D).

IV: CHROME SPECFORCE SAFE MODE

The safe mode should be used when the game won't run on a your machine - it alters the default settings to lower settings and turns EAX off, this will then allow you to boot up the game and tweak the options for your machine.

V: CUSTOM MISSIONS

You may be able to download custom missions from the Internet. In order to run them use CUSTOM MISSIONS button in the main game menu. You will be able to choose custom mission you want to run and its difficulty level.

VI: MULTIPLAYER INFORMATION

Q: I can't join internet games and people can't join my internet servers?
A: Please check if after clicking on "update list" and "refresh list" button you are able to join one of the existing Chrome SpecForce MP servers.
A: You will need to check that your firewall (if you're running one) is setup to allow Chrome SpecForce through it (please remember that Windows XP has built-in firewall), the ports that need to be opened for this are ports from 29000 to 29050, although this can be set in the server settings section of the game.
A: If you are using two network interfaces (i.e. one for LAN card and modem for Internet connection) you have to disable the one that is not responsible for Internet connection in order to connect to Master Server and join internet games.
A: Please remember that game version of both server and client must be the same in order to accomplish connection. Green icon before server name tells you that you will be able to connect to this server.
A: Please remember that server might be running maps you do not have - in this case you will not be able to connect to that server.

Q: My Multiplayer Server is too slow when hosting a MP game?
A: General rule of thumb for hosting faster multiplayer games is that the better the computer you are hosting it on, the better the game will run. Another alternative for running faster multiplayer games is to use the Dedicated Server function within the game. This allows you to serve a game for others to play, but you will not be able to play on this machine, only host the game. This option is in the "Create Game" server section or once you have selected your options you can choose to run a dedicated server from the windows Start menu, again selecting this will make the server faster as there is no game engine whatsoever running in the background. As well as this another thing that will restrict the speed of the multiplayer game is the bandwidth of the line you are playing the game on, the faster the bandwidth the faster the game will be.

Q: Can I sort internet servers?
A: Yes - choose 'server filter option' to sort game servers, or click on server name, ip, ping to sort by these fields.

Q: Can I add/remove some weapons/ammo/implants when creating a server?
A; Yes - find .scr file in Data\LevelsNet\Map_Name directory and use notepad to edit it.

VII: GAME PERFORMANCE

If the framerate of your game seems to be low, try lowering some of the video and audio settings to rectify the problem. Make sure that you closed all unnecessary programs running in background before running the game. If you are using onboard sound card, please check if lowering sound quality will help improve the framerate. We recommend to turn off 3D menu option on slower machines. Make sure you have the latest video/audio/motherboard drivers installed on your computer.

VIII: KNOWN COMPATIBILITY ISSUES

Please note that video cards that do not support T&L in hardware do not fully meet the games minimum spec and will therefore suffer performance issues.
The game do not supports GeForce 4MX video cards.
The game requires video card with Pixel Shader 1.1.
In all cases check you have installed the latest drivers from your hardware manufacturer's website.
If after turning on EAX option in the game audio setting you are not able to hear some sounds we recommend to install newest sound drivers or turning EAX option off (this concerns onboard sound cards mostly).
If you have noticed that there is no fog in the game please check if installation of different video card drivers will help to solve this problem.
