CIA Operative CD case manual
April 14th, 2001
System Requirements
-------------------
OS: Windows 95/98/2000/NT
CPU: PII 300MHz or better
Memory: 32mb
HD Space: 200MB
12xCD-ROM Drive
Audio: Windows Compatible Sound Card
3D Accelerator required
Installation
------------
Place the CIA Operative CD into your CD-ROM drive. If you have Autoplay
enabled on your system, Setup will begin automatically, otherwise Setup
will need to be started manually. To do so, select Run from the Windows
Start Menu, browse to your CD ROM drive, and select "setup.exe" then
press Enter. Follow the on screen instructions to complete installation.
You can now start the game by double-clicking the CIA Operatve shortcut that
has been placed on the desktop.
CIA Operative Frontend Menu
-------------------------
On running CIA Operative, the following options are available.
Play Game - Starts the game
Video Setup - Opens the video options menu
Run GLSetup - Starts GLSetup
Quit - Closes the CIA Operative main menu
Configuring Video
---------------------------
Video Options - Allows selection of Resolution, Color Depth,
Windowed mode, and a 3dfx card option.
To ensure that you have the proper video driver for your 3D Accelerator,
GLSetup will automatically run the first time you start the game.
Important! If you have a Voodoo1, Voodoo2, or Voodoo Banshee 3D Accelerator
you should also check the box at the bottom of the video options menu. If
you ever change or remove your Voodoo 3D Accelerator, uncheck this box.
Known Issues
------------
For nVidia GeForce cards, some versions of the Detonator drivers cause
visual errors. GLSetup will download the correct drivers. The version
6.50 detonators are known to have visual errors; the 6.31 and 6.38 versions
work properly.
If running solomissions.exe does not work, you probably need to install directx8. Run "dx80eng.exe" from the Solo Missions CD.
There are bugs in the Voodoo 5 drivers that do not allow Secret Ops to run fullscreen on some systems. If you experience this problem, you can still run the game in windowed mode from the "Video Setup" button in the launcher. Also, you may need to turn off "dynamic lights" in the game under "options" and then "video" to prevent the walls and floors from showing corrupt colors.
