2. Troubleshooting
Problem: Your computer is having trouble reading the CD-ROM.
Symptoms: There are sudden changes in performance, or messages
such as the following appear:
·"Cannot read from drive 'D:'"
·"Error reading from CD-ROM"
·"A serious CD error has occurred"
Possible cause: The disc may be damaged or dirty.
Solution: Check your disc for fingerprints, scratches, or smudges.
To check your disc, hold its shiny side up to a bright light. If you
find your disc is dirty, you can clean it with a soft cotton cloth.
If necessary, you may also use a damp cloth. If your disc becomes
damaged, refer to our replacement policy in the warranty section of
the User's Manual.
Problem: You are experiencing difficulty installing the program.
Possible cause: Other programs may be running while you are attempting to
install this product.
Solution: First, make sure there are no other programs running.
Press ALT+TAB to check for other programs running. If there are other
programs running, please quit them before proceeding with installation.
Problem: You are experiencing problems printing.
Possible cause: There is not enough virtual memory for the program to
print. You may need to allocate more virtual memory.
Solution: To allocate more virtual memory to your computer, please do
the following:
·In Windows, hard drive space is automatically used by the
operating system for virtual memory use. If you run out of virtual
memory, free up more hard drive space on your computer.
·For best performance, wait until your system has finished printing
before using other parts of the program.
Problem: The program is randomly locking up or freezing during play.
Possible cause: The drivers may need to be updated, your disc may be
dirty, or your computer may not have enough memory.
Solution: Try the following:
·Make sure your sound and video drivers are the most current versions
available. A lock-up can occur when our program asks your computer
to play a sound or display an image that it is not prepared to play
or display.
·Make sure the disc is clean and free of scratches. A lock-up can
occur when your machine is asked to read a file which it cannot
read.
Video Display Problems during Movies
If you experience distorted video display or the image being
shifted off-center on the screen while viewing the opening
or ending movies in Dr. Seuss PK Reading, you may need to
adjust the settings in the QuickTime control panel.

Control Panel.
· Double-click to open the QuickTime 32 control panel.
· Click the More button at the bottom of the control panel.
· Click the Video tab, and under Optimization set the Draw
Method to Video Driver. If the Draw Method is already set
to Video Driver, try setting it to Bitmap (BMP).
· Click Apply and then Close.
· Return to the program and try running it again.
If you continue to have problems launching or running the
program, try reinstalling the application. We recommend
you use the Add/Remove Programs feature in Windows to
completely remove the program. To access this feature:
· Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then
Control Panel.
· Double-click to open the Add/Remove Programs control panel.
· Click on the Install/Uninstall tab.
· Select Dr. Seuss PK Reading from the list of programs.
· Click the Add/Remove button, and then click OK to

and then click Windows Explorer.

to open it.
