Formula 1 Notes
Please make sure that you have DirectX fully
installed along with any additional drivers
you may require (see note below).
When running the game it is recommended that
no other windows programs or tasks are running.
If you have a joystick or a steering wheel please
make sure that it is configured and calibrated
under your Windows 95 Control Panel.
Installing DirectX 3
To install DirectX select Run from the start menu
and enter X:\redist\directx\dxsetup.exe.
Where X is the drive letter of your CD drive.
Please reinstall the graphics drivers for your
3D card AFTER installing DirectX.
3Dfx Owners
If you have an Orchid Righteous 3D Or Diamond
Monster3D 3D Accelerator then please ensure that
along with Direct X, you also have the
latest version of Glide (http://www.3dfx.com)
Rendition Verite Owners
If you have a Rendition Verite based card (such as
the Creative 3D Blaster PCI) then please install
the display drivers found in the RRedline directory
of this CD.
n.b. This version will not work with the 3D Blaster
drivers.
Please note that in some cases the display sttings maybe
displayed too dark. In this case you will need to adjust
your cards 'Gamma Correction' setting.
This can be altered in the Display Properties
section of the Windows 95 Control Panel.
Please note that the RRedline version of F1 has a dynamic
resolution setting (screen size setting) that can be
found in the In-Game Options menu of the game.
Simply press escape whilst playing to modify the
setting.
640 x 480
512 x 384
320 x 240
Please note the RETURN key toggles between the various
resolutions.
We have encountered stability problems with running
this version on some Novell networks. Typical problems
are the game not starting correctly. To fix this
problem do not log into your network whilst playing F1.
Permedia Owners
Please make sure that you have the latest D3D drivers
installed for your card.
Please ensure the following settings in the display
properties for the Permedia :-
Texture Compression - Never Patch
8Bit RGB Textures - Off
True Color Textures - Off
Don't Force CopyMode - On
No VBlank Wait - Off
Filter Stretching - Off
Disable Direct3D HAL - Off
Rectangular Allocator - Off
Off Screen Bitmaps - Off
DMA Buffers - 2
DMA Buffer Size - 64K
n.b. If you experience any sound problems with this
version of F1 and your soundcard, this is probably
down to a DMA bus-mastering conflict, due to your PC's
motherboard and the current versions of your Permedia
card drivers. Hopefully 3DLabs will fix this
problem in the near future.
Matrox Mystique Owners
Please ensure that you have a 4mb card & the latest
D3D drivers for your card before running the game.
