GAME PLAY
---------

Grid Runner is based on two very old game concepts; the game of "Tag",
and the game of "Capture the Flag". It is similar in that you must
chase, tag, run away from your opponent, and collect flags.

The rules are fairly simple. Somewhere in the maze there are a number
of flags. The first person to capture the designated number of flags
wins the match. Unfortunately, you cannot capture a flag if you are
"it", therefore you must "tag" (touch) your opponent before you can
collect your flags.

You may also recapture flags that your opponent has previously captured.
If your opponent has changed a flag red then make sure you are "Not It"
and run over it. This will subtract a flag from the enemy and add one
to your score.
Don't forget that your opponent can do the same.

Inside the maze there are obstacles and pests. Some must be avoided
while others can be used to your advantage.

For users of the Trident 9660 video chipset, including owners of the
IBM Aptiva:

Current versions of MicroSoft DirectX do not support the Trident 9660
video chipset. If you see a DirectX error when you first try to run
the game, you will need to acquire and install new drivers for your
specific video board. Trident Microsystems is a manufacturer of video
chips, but not of video boards; your video board will need drivers
suited for the particular manufacturer. Your best approach is to
contact the board manufacturer for the latest drivers and support
software. Trident Microsystems also offers drivers for a variety of
major video board manufacturers at the following World-Wide Web site:
