Starting!
---------
When you insert the Paintball CD-ROM into
the CD drive for the first time, you'll be
prompted to 'Install' Paintball.

Follow the installation procedure as outlined.

After the first installation, you can run
Paintball from the shortcut icon or just
insert the CD-ROM into the CD drive again to
launch Paintball from your hard drive.

To play Paintball, you will be required to
insert the original Paintball installation
CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.

Recommendations!
----------------
Paintball delivers a high level of realism
through its powerful graphics engine. To get
the best performance and level of realism, we
highly recommend you purchase a 3D graphics
accelerator. Just consider it another paintball
accessory!

Learning to play!
-----------------
We've included information to help you learn
to play in the Paintball help file.

This is available from your Start Menu under
the Paintball program group.

Updates?
---------
On occasion, we will release an update to Paintball
or other games. You should check our
webpage at www.sunstorm.net or check the
WizardWorks page at outdoors.wizworks.com for
product updates and patches.

We also have an automated update method that is
available if you have an internet connection.

Launch Paintball, then click
on the 'Settings' button. Click the 'Network Settings'
button, then the 'Internet Update' button.

If an update is available, then it will be
downloaded for you. You should then execute this
update from the directory in which you installed
Paintball. Follow the instructions it
to update your game to the current version.

Troubleshooting notes on Paintball
----------------------------------
1. You must have a DirectX compatible Sound and
Video Card for Paintball to operate properly.

The latest version of DirectX is included on the
install CD for your convenience.

2. Paintball is also a LARGE game so we
recommend a computer system with at least 32 MB
of RAM. Of course, the more memory the better!

3. If you are experiencing display problem,
problems with the graphics palette, cursor problems
or other performance issues, we strongly recommend
that you run Paintball in FULL SCREEN mode.

This can be set from the Paintball 'Video Settings'
screen.

4. If Paintball is running very sluggish it
could be because you don't have enough free space
on the hard drive. Try creating additional space
if you have less than 50 megabytes of free space on
your hard drive.

5. LAPTOPS - If you cannot run Paintball on your
laptop computer, you should check to insure that you
are running the game in Windowed mode. This can be set
from the Paintball 'Video Settings' screen.

7. If the game fails to run on your system it could
be because you don't have DirectX compatible drivers.
Run the DirectX diagnostic (Dxdiag.exe in your
 "C:\Program Files\DirectX\Setup" directory.) and make
sure you have certified drivers.
