                               * RAM *
                               *******

Israeli Air Force requires 32Mb of RAM to run. We recommend at least
64Mb for greater performance.

                         ********************
                         * HARD DRIVE SPACE *
                         ********************

A total of 251 MB of hard drive space is required for the minimum game
installation. A total of 635 MB of hard drive space is required for the
full game installation. Israeli Air Force will also need at least 100 MB
of free hard drive space AFTER the game is installed for the Windows 95/98
swap file.

                               *********
                               * VIDEO *

Israeli Air Force requires you to have a video card that is SVGA, 640x480
resolution, 64k color, 4 MB Video memory, and 100% DirectX
5.0 or higher compliant. If you have installed DirectX during
the game installation, or run the DXSETUP.EXE program
(which can be found in the DirectX directory of your Israeli Air Force CD)
and your video card is not certified, you need to contact your
video card manufacturer and obtain the DirectX 5.0 or higher
drivers for your card. If you have downloaded the drivers, and
your card is still not working, you need to contact Microsoft at
one of the following locations:

                 Microsoft Corporation
                 PHONE 1-800-426-9400
                 BBS 1-206-936-6735
                 WEBSITE http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsSupport/

                                *******
                                * CPU *
                                *******

Israeli Air Force requires a Pentium 200 with MMX technology or
faster Intel processor to run. The detail levels you have selected
in the GRAPHIC OPTIONS will affect the frame rate.

**************************** INSTALLATION ******************************
************************************************************************

Please refer to the INSTALL GUIDE for detailed installation
instructions.

************************************************************************
************************* PERIPHERAL SUPPORT ***************************
************************************************************************

In order to get optimum Input Device performance with Israeli Air Force,
you should set up your peripherals with the Windows 95/98
Joystick setup program, found in the Control Panel. Click on the
START MENU, and go into SETTINGS - CONTROL PANEL.

************************************************************************
************************* NETWORK GAMING *******************************
************************************************************************

You can play Israeli Air Force on Jane's Combat.Net, the premier
online gaming service for Jane's Combat Simulations. This is a free
service where you can meet, chat, and engage others in combat from
all over the world. Of course, you must have access to the Internet
through your Internet Service Provider (ISP), and have purchased
Israeli Air Force in order to play.

Go to WWW.JANESCOMBAT.NET to set up your free account and start playing.

                      ***************************
                      * HAVING NETWORK TROUBLE? *
                      ***************************

Unfortunately a successful connection doesn't mean your network has
fast enough throughput to play Israeli Air Force. Most networks have
a fast enough peek data transfer rate to play Israeli Air Force but
may not have a low enough latency rate. Most LAN's or WAN's used
at your place of work are busiest during standard working hours.
During these times of peak network usage you may have trouble connecting,
staying connected, or experience a slowdown in frame rate. The easiest
way to solve this problem is to play early in the morning or late in the
evening when the other network traffic is at a minimum. You could also
request that your network administrator place you and your fellow
Israeli Air Force pilots on the same network HUB or Router.

************************** TROUBLE SHOOTING ****************************
************************************************************************

1. If you are having trouble with your video card or sound card,
you can contact your hardware's manufacturer and get the
DirectX 5.0 or higher drivers from your manufacturer. If those
drivers are not available, you can contact Microsoft at one of
   the following locations:

                 Microsoft Corporation
                 PHONE 1-800-426-9400
                 BBS 1-206-936-6735
                 WEBSITE http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsSupport/

2. I cannot connect when trying to hook-up using TCP/IP.
        - Make sure that you are connected to your Internet
service provider. You must do this before launching
          Israeli Air Force.

3. The game is very choppy.
	- Make sure you have the fastest computer as the host.
        - Reduce the number of TCP/IP players to 4.
        - Turn down your graphic detail in the PREFERENCES section.
You may see a drastic improvement by turning down terrain
and object detail, as well as turning off textured sky,
          smoke trails, and external stores.

4. No sound with older Creative Labs SoundBlaster cards:
        - Israeli Air Force requires a stereo sound card to function correctly.
Original SoundBlaster cards v1.0, 1.5, or v2.0 will not function
with Israeli Air Force. SoundBlaster Pro, SoundBlaster 16, or later
Creative Labs sound cards are not effected by this problem. If you
have one of these sound cards, we suggest installing DirectX 5.2,
which is on the Israeli Air Force CD.

5. The intro movies don't play correctly:
	- You should install the Indeo video 5.0 drivers from the CD.
This is an option during installation. If you did not install
them originally, you should uninstall the game first, then
reinstall, and install the Indeo drivers when prompted.

6. My Matrox M3D video card is not displaying 3D accelerated effects:
	- Due to limitations of this video card, we were unable to display
the Israeli Air Force terrain and 3D objects at the same time.
Therefore, this card will default to software rendering. You
will not see any 3D accelerated effects.

7. Playing large multiplayer games over IPX is unstable:
	- We suggest that you use the TCP/IP protocol for large games
(6-8 players), if you are experiencing problems connecting with IPX.

8. If you install any other Jane's games after you have already installed
Israeli Air Force, be aware of the following. During the install of
one of those games, you will be asked if you want to replace the
file EAREMOVE.EXE. You should say NO. If you do replace this file,
there may be problems when trying to Uninstall Israeli Air Force.

9. If you playing on a video card that uses the nVidia chipset, such as the
Riva 128, the STB Velocity 128, or Diamond Viper V330, and are experiencing
graphical problems with the textured sky, or possibly a slow frame rate, we
suggest you get the latest drivers for your card from the manufacturer, or
   off the internet.

*** NOTE FOR MULTIPLAYER GAMES ***

Playing the campaign or special missions in multiplayer, when going to the
tactical map, the A.I. will take over your plane and fly it until you
return to your jet.
