When a violent earthquake rocks Jurassic Park the DNA lab suffers catastrophic damage. Glass vials shatter, spilling dinosaur blood samples and the precious DNA contained within. Without these building blocks of Jurassic life the dinosaurs could become extinct all over again!
As part of an elite recovery task force, you've been called in to help with DNA Assistance Recovery Tracking (D.A.R.T.). Speed your 4x4 across the perilous island in this head-to-head competition, to see who will be first to bring back Dino DNA, and clone their own dinosaur.
But watch your step! Every move explodes into a heart pounding mini competition as you outmaneuver your challengers in a race against odds through Jurassic Park... Danger Zone!

I. Minimum System Requirements

Computer system requirements:
Pentium II, 233MHz or better
Windows 95, 98, 2000, and above
64 MB RAM
30 MB hard drive space
Video SVGA
16 X CD-ROM Drive
Sound card -- Sound Blaster compatible

II. Installing & Uninstalling the Program
*******************************************************************
If you are using the AutoPlay feature of Windows®:
1. Insert Jurassic Park III: Danger Zone! into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Click Install when the Menu Screen appears and follow the prompts.
If you are not using AutoPlay, follow these steps:
1. Click Start and then move the cursor to Settings
2. Click Control Panel, then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Install, then Next, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete installation.
Uninstalling the Program under Windows®
1. Click on Start, move cursor to Settings, and click Control Panel.
2. Double-click on Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click on JP3 Danger Zone!, click on Add/Remove, and then click Yes.
4. Go to Windows® Explorer and delete the Danger Zone! folder from the 'Jurassic Park III Games' folder on your hard drive.

III. Playing the Game
*******************************************************************
Players take turns pressing the space bar to drive their 4x4 around the Island obstacle course. Landing on a "challenge" space launches an arcade-style mini game in which all players compete. For example, players may need to decode an electric fence to escape viscous velociraptors, outsmart a T-Rex by sneaking past him to retrieve badly needed supplies, or use their 4x4 to corral raptors before time runs out.
Win the mini-games to earn valuable challenge points. Points may be used to buy supplies to give an edge over the competition: first aid kits, extra tires, helicopter lift, or an extra turn at darting Dino DNA. Surprise hazards may include dinosaur traps, stampeding stegos and rollicking earthquakes.
When you land on D.A.R.T. spaces, dart dinosaurs to collect dino DNA samples. You need to dart four dinosaurs to fill your DNA tube and qualify for entrance to Jurassic Park Labs.
Once you have all four DNA samples, try to land on a yellow Entrance Gate to advance to Jurassic Park Labs and win the game! Use the DNA you collected to create a dinosaur that you can print out. There are seven different dinosaurs in all to collect.

IV. Options Screen

Click on the Lab at the center of the Game Screen to access the Options screen, which displays the following:
_ DINOSAUR PRINTOUT Buttons - When you earn a printable dinosaur its button brightens. Click on it, then click on the PRINT YOUR DINO
button to print it out.
_ Volume Slider - Click and slide to adjust the audio volume.
_ BACK ARROW Button - Click here to go back to the game.
_ CREDITS Button - Click here to see the credits.
_ EXIT MISSION Button - Click here to exit the program.

V. Troubleshooting

If the program is very slow:

1. Close any unnecessary applications that may be running.
2. Make sure your display setting is at 640x480 resolution and 16 bit or high color. Refer to your system or Windows documentation.
If display problems occur:

If you experience graphics problems while running the program, contact your video card or system vendor to obtain the latest version of their
video driver.
If sound problems occur:
---------------------------------
If you experience sound problems while running the program, contact your sound card or system vendor to obtain the latest version of their
sound driver.
Screen savers:
--------------------
If you are running a screen saver in the background and experience video and sound problems during the program, disable the screen saver and the problem should be resolved. Refer to your screen saver
documentation on how to disable the screen saver.
Windows 95 TaskBar:
------------------------------
The Windows 95 Taskbar may interfere with the user's ability to view graphics, animations and program information. If you encounter difficulties when the Windows 95 Taskbar appears on-screen, enable the Taskbar's Autohide feature:
* Click the Start button, then select Settings, then Taskbar.
* At the dialog box that appears, uncheck 'Always on top' and check 'Auto hide'.
* Click the 'Apply' button, then the 'OK' button.
You also have the option of relocating the Taskbar to different sides of the display screen:
* Click and hold down the mouse pointer on a blank area of the Taskbar.
* Drag and release the Taskbar on the side of the screen where it causes the least interference.
Note: If you need to access the Taskbar or the Start menu at any time while the program is running, press CTRL+ESC. To return to the program,
click on the program's display area, or press ALT+TAB until the program's icon is selected.
