1. Free Disk Space
------------------
Droid Developer Kit takes up 50 Mb of hard drive space when installed. In addition
to this the product may require up to 20 Mb of free hard drive swap space for both
installation and running of the application depending on the configuration of your
machine.
These requirement are exclusive of the hard drive space required for DirectX 6.1
and QuickTime 3.02, both of which are required to run the application. For low
spec machines with out any of the required software currently installed, it is
recommended that at least 100 Mb of free disk space be available before commencing
installation of the product.
2.Exclusive Application
-----------------------
Droid Developer Kit is designed to be run as an exclusive application. It is
therefore recommended that the user shut down other applications before running
Droid Developer Kit.
3.Popping or Choppy Sound
-------------------------
Due to possible conflicts between DirectX, QuickTime, and some sound cards, some
'popping' or sound dropouts may be encountered when playing QuickTime movies
within this product. A possible solution is to change how QuickTime plays sound.
To do this, go to your Control Panel and open QuickTime. In the QuickTime Settings
dialog, choose the 'Sound Out' option from the drop down menu. Change the setting
in this option from 'Direct Out' to 'Wave Out' and close QuickTime.
4.Software Conflicts
--------------------
Droid Developer Kit is known to have compatibility issues with the following
software:
Debabelizer:
The presence of an installation of Debabelizer has been known to disrupt the
installation of Droid Developer Kit.
Microsoft Outlook:
Outlook reminders and other messages cause Droid Developer kit to minimize to
the Windows task bar.
5. Hardware Compatibility
-------------------------
The following hardware products are not compatible with Droid Developer Kit:
Viewtop Permedia 2 graphics card:
This card will give poor video quality and has been known to cause a crash using
the build instructions with this product.
Tseng Labs 4000/W32P:
This card is not DirectX compatible certified and will cause a crash when
starting this application.
Standard SVGA driver:
If you have a standard SVGA driver for your graphics card you will receive the
following error message when attempting to run Droid Developer Kit:
