Madden NFL Football Limited Edition

Installing the game

-From Windows 95, choose RUN from the Start Menu and enter X:\SETUP.EXE
(where X is your CD-ROM letter, usually D:). Setup Wizard will guide you
through the install process and create a program group and icon in the
start menu under the group EA Sports. Select the group and icon to run
   the game.

-From DOS, type X:\INSTALL (where X is your CD-ROM drive letter, usually
D:). This will not create a program group or icons in Windows 95. To run
the game in DOS, at the c:\ prompt, type:

   CD\MADDEN
   MADDEN

This will run the game and it's hardware setup utility. If you installed to
a different directory, substitute your new name in the CD\MADDEN line of
  these instructions.

Microsoft memory manager users (EMM386.EXE)

-If you use EMM386.EXE for memory management and have only 8 MB of memory,
you may need to disable EMM in the CONFIG.SYS configuration file on your
hard drive to get enough memory free (minimum 7400K total memory free).
To do this, type at the DOS prompt:

   EDIT CONFIG.SYS

In this file, type REM followed by a space before the line that loads
   EMM386.exe
   Example:
           REM C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE

ATI MACH 32/64 video card users

-If you have a MACH 32 based card, you must run the VESA driver supplied by
your video card manufacturer before running the game. Without this driver,
your game may hang at startup with a black screen. MACH 64 based cards
include this support build in to the BIOS.

-You may experience redraw problems when running the game with both of
these video cards. To fix this problem, you must install an updated version
of the file VESA.MGD which resides in the root directory of the CD. This
file must be copied to 3 places: \MADDEN, \MADDEN\ACTION, and
\MADDEN\SCREENS directories. To do this, type at the DOS prompt:

        COPY X:\ATIVESA.MGD C:\MADDEN\VESA.MGD
        COPY X:\ATIVESA.MGD C:\MADDEN\SCREENS\VESA.MGD
        COPY X:\ATIVESA.MGD C:\MADDEN\ACTION\VESA.MGD

Substitute "X" with the letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive (usually D:).
If you installed to a different directory, substitute the C:\MADDEN
directory with the new directory name.

Other video cards that don't have built in VESA support

-If you have a video card that does not have VESA support built into the
BIOS, then you must run the driver supplied by the manufacturer. If you do
not have this driver, contact the manufacturer of your video card. Some
older cards do not include this support.
