WHAT IS THIS CD-ROM?
This CD-ROM will teach you how to play the
Magic: The Gathering_(R) game. It includes a
guided game, so you can play against the computer
instead of against another player when you're
first learning to play. It also includes an
advanced game for you to play when you think
you are ready for more of a challenge.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements: 133MHz Pentium or faster
processor; a video card supporting 800x600
pixel resolution with 16-bit color display;
Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows 2000.
A Web browser is required to view the card catalog.
HOW TO INSTALL
Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
The installer should launch automatically.
If it doesn't, double-click "My Computer"
on your desktop, then your CD-ROM drive, then
"Setup" or "Setup.exe."
After installation is complete, you can start
the tutorial by clicking "Start," moving the
mouse to "Programs," moving the mouse to
"Magic Starter 7th Edition" then choosing
"Magic Starter 7th Edition"
GETTING STARTED
To play the guided game, click the "Start Game"
button. Once the game begins, you'll see various
text and screens explaining parts of the game.
You'll go through a guided game that will explain
the rules as you play.
Once you've completed the guided game, you can
play the advanced game. You'll get to make all
your own decisions while you play against the
computer. After you've learned the basics, the
Advanced Menu has helpful information about
_Magic_(R).
Advanced Menu Options
Basic Game: Takes you back to the guided game.
Advanced Game: Takes you to the advanced game
where you can play on your own using the skills
you learned in the basic game.
Advanced Concepts: Introduces some Magic rules
that weren't covered in the guided game.
What Now?: Gives some very basic guidelines for
building your own deck out of real Magic cards.
Using the Rulebook: Introduces the rulebook that
came in the box with this game.
Card Catalog: Lets you see all the cards in the
Magic: The Gathering--Seventh Edition set, and
gives some pointers on how to use them in your
own decks.
Links: This takes you to a Web site where you
can find out more about the Magic game.
Exit: Quits the Seventh Edition Starter CD-ROM.
