2) Quick Start
------------------------------
INSTALLATION OF NFL Blitz 2K

Before beginning an installation, it is
recommended that you ensure that all other
programs are closed as the computer will typically
need to be restarted at the end of installation. If
any other programs are open at this time data may be
lost.

Automatic Installation

To begin installation, insert the CD-ROM into your
drive. If autoplay is active on your machine the
CD-ROM interface should open. If nothing happens
when the CD is inserted into the drive, autoplay
can also be started by double clicking on the CD
icon found in 'My Computer'. If neither of these
starts the installation, either begin installation
manually or enable autoplay on your CD
ROM/DVD drive.

------------------------------
3) Default Controls
------------------------------
The initial default controls are somewhat nebulous
and difficult to figure out. Navigate to the
Arcade--Options--System Options--Controller screen
to view the entire default controls. The onscreen
prompts instruct you to press TURBO to Back Up and
PASS to Select. Pressing <Enter> from the main menu
will allow you to navigate with your keyboard.
Pressing Start from your gamepad will allow you to
navigate with your gamepad.

That means:

Use the arrow keys to go up and down

5 = Select
1 = Back Up

Navigate to the controls screen to view the rest of
the default controls.

4) Troubleshooting
------------------------------
1. Check to make sure your system meets the minimum
requirements to run the game. System Requirements
are listed at the top of this page.

2. In order for your to run this game, your hardware
must be certified to work with Microsoft DirectX 6.
If you are experiencing errors and crashes within your
game, check to see if your hardware is properly
certified. Your system must be 100% compatible with
DirectX to ensure the game will work. Make sure you
hardware has the correct drivers loaded to play games
that require DirectX.

To check the status of DirectX 6 on your computer:
Click Start-Find-Files or Folders and search your
C: drive for the file DXDIAG.EXE This will run the
DirectX Diagnostic Tool. In this case, check your
Display and Sound tab for Certified: YES. If either
says Certified: NO, you must contact your computer
manufacturer for updated drivers. Call them and ask
for drivers that are certified to work with DirectX 6.
If they cannot provide you with that, your system does
not meet the minimum requirement to run the game.

3. If your hardware is certified and you still have
problems, it may be due to a software conflict.
Close down all open applications and utilities. From
your desktop, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete (just once!) and
"End Task" on all programs listed EXCEPT the one
called Explorer. Your system may not immediately
shut down the programs listed. Wait for Windows to
say it cannot close the program automatically. If
this occurs, press "End Task".

4. If your gamepad is not functioning properly, you
must check to see that it is configured and calibrated
in the Game Controllers panel (Start-Settings-Control
Panel-Game Controllers). Make sure your gamepad/joystick
is listed and the status says OK. If not, you must "Add"
it and next "Calibrate" it before starting your game.
Once done, check the Advanced tab and verify that your
controller ID is set to 1.

5. If your Windows has Active Desktop on, it may
interfere with the video of the game. You should turn
off Active Desktop (right-click your desktop, highlight
Active Desktop and de-select View Desktop as Web Page.)
