7. Notes - General Information
====================================================================

7.1 General issues

In general, if the game can't launch without further explanation or if
you meet graphic or sound problems while playing:

1. Check your computer requirements are compatible with those recommended
by the game
2. Check DirectX version as well as your graphic and sounds drivers:
your computer has to be update regularly.Generally an update older than
6 months is too old.

To check all those info, you can create a DxDiag.

What is a DxDiag?
DxDiag is a diagnostic tool that provides all technical info of your computer
(as the name of your graphic card, space available on your hard drive
or the version of the OS)
No confidential info is given.

How to create a DxDiag?
1. Click on Start then Run.
2. In the field Open, type the command DXDIAG then click OK.
3. Wait till the program has finished collecting all data
4. in the DxDiag window, click on the button Save All Information
5. Choose the place where you wish to save it and click on Save
6. Once the save is done, you can close the DxDiag window and open the
file DxDiag.txt

This file will be useful in case if you don't succeed in solving your problem:
you can attach it to the mail for our technical service, which will have all
elements to do diagnostic and help you.

7.2 Optimizing gameplay on slower computers

If you are experiencing slowdown during gameplay, try adjusting the graphic
details and texture details levels down to "low", and then adjusting options
one by one until you achieve an acceptable balance between visual quality
and game performance.

Some rules on graphic settings:
	- with 512 MB ram and/or slow GPU, please use the "low" graphics detail
	- with 768 MB ram and/or medium GPU, please use the "medium" graphics detail
	- with 1024 MB ram, you can use all "high" settings
(recommended if you have a Radeon X1600 Pro or GeForce 6600 or upper)

With 512 MB of RAM you may experience some pausing during gameplay
when Windows is swapping memory to the disk. Please disable your
anti-virus application and terminate all other applications,
including those running invisibly in the background.

7.3 General hint on optimizing gameplay

With less than 1024 MB ram, try to avoid using
	- High graphic details
	- High texture quality
	- Enable shadow
	- High anti-aliasing

Generally speaking, with less than 1GB of RAM, it is recommended you set
the virtual memory to a page file size with a starting value of 1,5 GB.

7.4 Video issues

Outdated or incorrect video drivers are the cause of the majority
of video issues.
Before contacting support, ensure you have the latest production
(release) drivers for your video card.

* ATI Technologies (http://www.ati.amd.com/support/driver.html)
* NVIDIA (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp)
* INTEL (http://www.intel.com/support)

Before contacting technical support, make sure you have the following
information related to your computer.
You can obtain this information by clicking on "My Computer" > "Properties" > "General" > "Device Manager":

Windows version
Processor type
Amount of RAM
Graphic card manufacturer and type
Sound card manufacturer and type
